Beyonce vinyl unboxing

“4,” the fourth solo studio album from Beyoncé was recorded over a year between the spring of 2010 and the spring of 2011, while Beyoncé took time away from the spotlight. She engaged in what she describes as simple things, including listening to every kind of music she truly enjoys. Her mixed musical gumbo will be displayed on the upcoming album.

5.0 out of 5 stars True Artpop March 30, 2014
Format:Audio CD
On December 13, 2013, while engaged in a world tour, and without any pre-release announcement, Beyonce released her self-titled fifth solo studio album exclusively via the i-tunes store. In just 3 days, "Beyonce" sold 617,000 copies; music history was made, new industry rules were set. 14 songs, 17 videos, switching from uninhibited female empowerment to kitchen sink drama, it was not just merely a record by a megastar, but a statement, as everything about this dark and complex record suggested that, despite the eponymous title, Beyonce was demanding more of herself than just being Beyonce.

Co-written and co-produced by herself and A-listers such as Pharell and Timbaland, among others, with references to her competitive showbiz upbringing and acknowledgments of her beloved hometown, Beyonce continued the game of role-play she's so good at: pop diva, fashion icon, wife, mother, herself, Sasha Fierce, revolutionary, provocateur etc. Upon its first listenings, I felt that she delivered an album that is mature without being boring, bold without being forced, and entertaining without being a drag. Not a small feat in pop music where so rarely something exciting happens (Lana Del Rey's sublime "Born to die" comes to mind).

3 months later, sales are growing steadily, and it is considered by critics and fans alike as Beyonce's creative and commercial peak. Sonically brilliant, and visually magnificent, "Beyonce" is among her most entertaining and sexually explicit work, yet substantive in every respect, easily her most accomplished project to date. Honestly, there isn't one person I know who's not enthusiastic about this album, and if I'm overwhelmed by this, I would expect Beyonce herself to be so proud of such a bold, expansive body of work, and its well-deserved success.

Beyonce really stepped outside the box on this epic collection. Her secret weapon is a producer named "Boots" who is responsible for the lush, atmospheric almost gothic elements of this journey.

Beyonce's fifth album was unleashed out of the blue with no promotion right around Christmas of 2013. The album went on to land on several best albums of 2013 and will also end up making best albums of 2014 lists.

The concept of this project is all music track on the album have a video to go along with, not just a video for the released singles so ultimately this is a visual album. There also happens to be a video for fan favorite, "Grown Woman" but since the release of this album, a new modified and better video has been released for the track and is available online.

Ive listened to this album in great detail since its release and below is my list in order of most listened to track to least listened to track. With that said, I dont dislike any song on this album because for the first time in a long time, an artist has released a full cohesive album project, not just an album full of singles that doesnt create an overall album experience. I dont recommend buying one or two singles. Get the full album and press play and watch the magic unfold.

Haunted - Stunning, haunting and really takes you on a journey. This is unlike anything beyonce has ever released before and when watching the Jonas Akerlund video, the best video on this dvd, I keep seeing little nods to Madonna. I could be wrong but the song and video take me back to Justify My Love amongst some other works from M.

Daring to be a visual front runner, the new Beyonce album pulled me right in because of the immediate availability of the music videos. Strangely, though I have been a Beyonce fan since I heard Destiny's Child's "No, No, No"......that debut album was played as a one hit wonder because I didn't listen to the rest of the album, I was truly converted with "The Writings on the Wall", a fun, very good album. No sophomore jinx here.
Her solo debut was much more immediate. I had hoped that after the ubiquitous "Crazy in Love", the title track, "Dangerously in Love" signaled a new Beyonce. Instead "B-Day", was a R&B/Hip Hop/Pop mini-masterpiece largely because the music videos. Though this album became one of my favorites for 2006, and I owned a couple of Destiny's Child concert DVDs.....I have had no interest in seeing Beyonce live!!! Her/their concert videos may be what most fans liked, I wasn't one of them.
"I Am.....Sascha Fierce" gave her international presence, but, turned out to be a less appealing endeavor for me. I applauded her for stretching the boundaries of her talents. They just weren't roads I thoroughly enjoyed traveling on.
But being a marketing guy, the brilliant strategy behind the release of "Beyonce" got me very excited. And to trump Michael Jackson by not only releasing a full video album simultaneously with the music album, was genius. I always worried that music videos would take away my personal imagination, I loved this concept and it made me take a liking to songs a lot quicker than first experiencing them audibly.
Beyonce, surprise, surprise looks beautiful, alluring, sexy and captivating. "Blow", "Haunted", "Mine", "Flawless", "Blue" and "Grown Woman" became instant repeat viewings!

Is there a list of all the videos on the bluray?
I'd like to combine with this discussion as well, outside of Amazon, is this combo pack available in stores? I've looked everywhere, have not seen one. At all.
