Beyonce Live At Roseland: Elements Of 4

“4,” the fourth solo studio album from Beyoncé was recorded over a year between the spring of 2010 and the spring of 2011, while Beyoncé took time away from the spotlight. She engaged in what she describes as simple things, including listening to every kind of music she truly enjoys. Her mixed musical gumbo will be displayed on the upcoming album.

5.0 out of 5 stars True Artpop March 30, 2014
Format:Audio CD
On December 13, 2013, while engaged in a world tour, and without any pre-release announcement, Beyonce released her self-titled fifth solo studio album exclusively via the i-tunes store. In just 3 days, "Beyonce" sold 617,000 copies; music history was made, new industry rules were set. 14 songs, 17 videos, switching from uninhibited female empowerment to kitchen sink drama, it was not just merely a record by a megastar, but a statement, as everything about this dark and complex record suggested that, despite the eponymous title, Beyonce was demanding more of herself than just being Beyonce.

Co-written and co-produced by herself and A-listers such as Pharell and Timbaland, among others, with references to her competitive showbiz upbringing and acknowledgments of her beloved hometown, Beyonce continued the game of role-play she's so good at: pop diva, fashion icon, wife, mother, herself, Sasha Fierce, revolutionary, provocateur etc. Upon its first listenings, I felt that she delivered an album that is mature without being boring, bold without being forced, and entertaining without being a drag. Not a small feat in pop music where so rarely something exciting happens (Lana Del Rey's sublime "Born to die" comes to mind).

3 months later, sales are growing steadily, and it is considered by critics and fans alike as Beyonce's creative and commercial peak. Sonically brilliant, and visually magnificent, "Beyonce" is among her most entertaining and sexually explicit work, yet substantive in every respect, easily her most accomplished project to date. Honestly, there isn't one person I know who's not enthusiastic about this album, and if I'm overwhelmed by this, I would expect Beyonce herself to be so proud of such a bold, expansive body of work, and its well-deserved success.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended May 15, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Already had 4 copies of the standard version. Once I heard it was released on Blu-Ray I had to have it. The videos are amazing on each disc. Some tell a story while others are fun and nice to look at. Beyoncé on Blu-Ray is nothing short of amazing the video quality is so sick. I have noticed things I didn't before. The picture is ao crisp and clear I thought some of the videos were different edits. As far as the sound Beyoncé I thought your crisp clear voice and pitch were astonishing before but to actually listen and catch everything you intended for us fans to revieve, Queen Bey you've done it again!!!

Beyonce really stepped outside the box on this epic collection. Her secret weapon is a producer named "Boots" who is responsible for the lush, atmospheric almost gothic elements of this journey.

Beyonce's fifth album was unleashed out of the blue with no promotion right around Christmas of 2013. The album went on to land on several best albums of 2013 and will also end up making best albums of 2014 lists.

The concept of this project is all music track on the album have a video to go along with, not just a video for the released singles so ultimately this is a visual album. There also happens to be a video for fan favorite, "Grown Woman" but since the release of this album, a new modified and better video has been released for the track and is available online.

Ive listened to this album in great detail since its release and below is my list in order of most listened to track to least listened to track. With that said, I dont dislike any song on this album because for the first time in a long time, an artist has released a full cohesive album project, not just an album full of singles that doesnt create an overall album experience. I dont recommend buying one or two singles. Get the full album and press play and watch the magic unfold.

Haunted - Stunning, haunting and really takes you on a journey. This is unlike anything beyonce has ever released before and when watching the Jonas Akerlund video, the best video on this dvd, I keep seeing little nods to Madonna. I could be wrong but the song and video take me back to Justify My Love amongst some other works from M.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Stunning, and now even more beautiful April 7, 2014

As an avid fan of Beyoncé, you can believe I was miffed when went months and months with simply snippets and unreleased song leaks. The night of December 12th, about 15-20 minutes before midnight, all that anger went away when Mrs. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter turned the music industry on it's head, perfecting the art of a secretive album drop and creating the first Visual Album. Musically, this is her best album to date and not a single song is anything less than amazing. Her creativity shines in each song, down to every beat and vocal inflection. Now, almost four months later (Happy belated anniversary Carter family!), I am able to say that these music videos are the best of her career, and some of the best ever released. In stunning HD quality I can assure you that it's worth it to re-purchase the album on Blu-Ray, to truly get the best experience possible. This is my 3rd copy, and I don't regret spending $20 more dollars for the jump up in quality, clarity, and audio enhancement. This is a must own for any Beyoncé stan.

Topic From this Discussion
Is there a list of all the videos on the bluray?
I'd like to combine with this discussion as well, outside of Amazon, is this combo pack available in stores? I've looked everywhere, have not seen one. At all.
