Book Description

The last time Latharn MacKay walked among his kinsman was in Scotland of 1410. Sensuous and charismatic, all the women wanted him, but none could capture his heart. Latharn's charm became his curse when a dark sorceress didn’t take rejection well. She snared his soul into a crystal globe until the one woman destined to be his love whispered his release. Now all Latharn has to do is find her and guide her to him without speaking a word.

One of the youngest archeologists in St. Louis of 2010, Nessa credits one thing for this achievement: the recurring dream of a heart-stopping Highlander since the summer she turned eighteen years old. Little does she know, he's not some fantasy cooked up by her subconscious. He’s a trapped soul determined for Nessa to end his six centuries in hell. Can love prevail over the dark magic of a woman scorned?

5.0 out of 5 stars beyound a highlan whisper February 22, 2011

This is the writers first book and I hope she keeps on writing. This is a true love story. I could not put it down until I finished it. Latharn was such a hunk what you would think of a true Scottish Highlander. The author truly captures his essences, a very loveable charater especially if you love anything Scotland. He finds his soul mate and then haunts her dreams for yrs. His soul mate nessa is no helpless lass, she has spunk and brains and can take care of herself. The author gives many details and her descriptions of the story makes you feel like your are seeing an awesome movies. It is the type of book that you never want it to end. It is a intriging paranormal with a ghost, an immortal, a witch and a druid. She has it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read! March 9, 2011

He would wait for her... 600 years.

Latharn MacKay, Highland rogue, druid of sorts, is cursed by a witch and made to endure 600 years of solitude. Confined to a crystal prison, he has no choice but to watch generation after generation pass before his very eyes. His only hope is his stubborn soul mate who finally decides to live on this plane of existence and free his magical binds. That is, if he can convince her to do so--without speaking a word.

Nessa Buchanan, archaeologist, self-achiever, has a bad track record with men. None of them can live up to the handsome Highlander that graces her dreams--every night since she turned 18. Called to the Highlands and granted a fully-funded ancestral dig, Nessa discovers a mysterious, yet familiar, bauble that haunts her.

This is a great read. It's exciting and innovative and I can't wait to read more from this author. She does an excellent job portraying how true love knows no bounds. I'm ready for the next one!

I don't read too many paranormals, but this one caught my attention. It has a very big fantasy feel to it. Latharn is yummy and larger than life and Nessa was "every woman". Loved the ending. Thuroughly enjoyable read that captured me from the get go.

Love this book. I liked Nessa, not a blatant, over the top "I am woman" character seen in many books; however, she is strong, intelligent and was not fooled by any tricks. Read more

More About the Author

I'm Maeve Greyson, paranormal romance writer from Kentucky. The stories I write are filled with love, passion and anything might happen just to get to that happily ever after.

I've been a dreamer all my life but never shared my stories until my mother's failing health demanded she become a heart transplant recipient. Her resulting journey terrified her. My stories gave her a brief escape from her devastating illness.

She's been gone for a while now. But the joy of releasing my dreams to the page remains. Many of my stories are filled with the mysteries of time-travel and legends, all with a Celtic flair. Scotland and Ireland sing to my soul. In a past life, I'm certain I walked those magical lands.

My writing partner is Jasper, a stubborn little dog who never remembers the dire consequences of chasing skunks at the edge of the woods. Under Jasper's devoted supervision and the loving support of my husband of over thirty years, I hide away in our secluded wood and follow wherever my characters lead.
