Makes wonderful waffles! I am really happy with it. Usually I use my grandmother's simple recipe: Combine 1 cup flour, 1 T sugar, 1 T baking powder, pinch of salt and set aside. Combine 3/4 cup milk, 1 egg, and 2 T oil (or melted bacon fat like my grandma did) and add to the flour mix and stir until well combined. This amount gives me 4 or 5 waffles. I let the waffles get nicely brown, that's how we like it. Everybody should be eating Texas waffles.

I purchased this waffel maker for my son who is now living out of state. We have had ours for over ten years and it still works perfectly making a large thick waffle. The Texas shape comes as a bonus!

I don't have any idea what the latest is in waffle-iron technology. This appears to be a very basic machine (pour in the batter, wait till the light goes off, pull out the waffle) but it worked fine and got a lot of laughs.

My son is in Texas now and my wife has become a fan of everything Texas because of it. So I got her this waffle maker for her birthday. I am a hero!

The construction seems a bit flimsy for this appliance, but as there are not a lot of options for Texas shaped waffle irons...

Be sure to oil it well before the first use. This isn't a criticism, rather just sound advise for any new waffle maker (it also says to do this in the instructions for those of you who never read the instructions.)

The maker heats up quickly and can put out waffles fast enough to keep 4, maybe 5, people going.

I'm just glad he's in Texas. I don't know that a Rhode Island waffle maker would do much for my appetite.

In my opinion this is a fun waffle maker. I think the waffles are not as thick as I thought they would be, but it is still fun.

Yup. Arrived a day early. Works like a top.

Nieces, nephews, grandkids and all the big kids (adults) love this thing.

Texas-shaped waffles always a hit here.

Highly recommended.

We think there should be one shaped like every state in the Union. We'd collect 'em all!
