Great read!!,
This review is from: Beyond Betrayal (Paperback)
Beyond Betrayal takes the reader into the life of 25-year-old Maria and all the ups and downs she experiences with friends, boyfriends, a job, and family. Author Jane Hoppe does a fabulous job of allowing the reader into the inner thoughts of Maria and how she handles relationships and challenges.
I enjoyed the book so much I bought one for each of my 20-something daughters. The story moves at a comfortably quick pace while also offering some direction in making those big-life decisions.

Engaging Tale,
This review is from: Beyond Betrayal (Paperback)
Jane Hoppe's lovely novel, Beyond Betrayal, is charming in its intimacy and honesty with the characters and engaging in its exploration of themes that most of us have dealt with at some time in our lives--or that many might be dealing with as they read. Hoppe has created interesting characters that one comes to care about, and situations that one can identify with, from a critical mother to complex coworkers to choices about love and career. She avoids offering pat answers, and even allows the reader to consider how she or he might respond to the emotional ups and downs.
I'd particularly recommend this for young women who need someone to identify with as they go through this stage themselves (Maria is in her early 20s and making decisions about life)-- even if they don't have the betraying boyfriend to kick off the action. In fact, the betrayal is just a jumping off point, the thing that needs healing, but the book is not about the boyfriend. It is about healing and moving on.

By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beyond Betrayal (Paperback)
Wonder how twenty year olds deal with relationships or the world today? Author, Jane Hoppe brings you a delightful story about 25-year-old Maria Beaumont who thinks her social life and career are cool until her boyfriend dumps her and her boss hands her a mission that seems impossible. This hip, thoughtful story about today's fast-paced world and the twenty-somethings who are plugged in and chasing their dreams, learning life lesson and being there for each other. In this gentle read, find out what Maria discovers as she balances workplace challenges, fuzzy dating rules and her own dreams. Does she choose the Italian artist, the genial high school teacher, or her dream of studying art in Europe? This book will have you hooked until you find out. Readers will enjoy identifying with a character in this book as well as seeing your friends, family and coworkers in this story. Recommended for readers of all ages as this story invites readers to look at old assumptions with new eyes.
