More About the Author

Suzanne Doyle-Morris, PhD follows up the huge success of her last book "Beyond the Boys' Club: Strategies for Achieving Career Success as a Woman Working in a Male-Dominated Field," with a look into the relationships of couples where the woman is the main earner. In the book she discusses how these couples work around non-traditional gender expectations around who brings home the bacon to create sound relationships. She also draws on her experience in the corporate sector to devise strategies on how organisations must adapt to the rising tide of female breadwinners.

Her research around the lives of professional women is borne out of her Ph.D research on women working in male dominated fields, from the University of Cambridge. Dr. Doyle-Morris regularly presents to organisations as wide ranging as Clifford Chance, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Thomson Reuters, Accenture, Deloitte, BP, Barclays and Hewlett Packard among others.

Her practical coaching experience paired with her academic background regarding gender in the workplace make her one of the most credible speakers on the challenges . . . and opportunities ... for today's working woman.

I recently started a new job and was having difficultly navigating the politics and personalities in my new environment. After a particularly challenging week, I picked up this book and immediately found it helpful. The book helped me realize how I was subtly but surely sabotaging myself. I appreciated that the author translated the concepts into actionable steps. The information in the book is useful not only for women who work in male-dominated industries, but for all women who want to improve their performance at work.

There are so few books on this topic. If you don't have a woman role model or a mentor, you can easily feel lost. Of course the concepts in the book are as much applicable to men but its nice to get advice for women from women.
