Book Description

September 12, 2003
In Beyond the Breakwater, the sequel to Safe Harbor, Sheriff Reese Conlon and Doctor Tory King face the challenges of personal change as they define their lives and future together. Tory’s pregnancy forces her to examine her personal needs and goals while Reese struggles with her escalating anxieties over conditions she cannot control. Twenty year-old Brianna Parker makes a sacrifice for love that threatens not just her happiness, but her life, when she returns home as the newest member of the Sheriff's department. A life-threatening accident, a suspicious fire, and the appearance of more than one woman vying for Bri’s attentions makes one Provincetown summer a time of transformation as each woman learns the true meaning of love, friendship, and family.

About the Author

Radclyffe is the cyberpersona of an author/surgeon who lives and writes in the Northeastern United States. She admits to a life-long love affair with fictional romances of all persuasions, and, after discovering lesbian fiction at the age of twelve, she has collected it, written it, and finally, one career later, published it. The common theme throughout her traditional romances and action/mystery series is a celebration of the power of love between strong, valiant women.

In addition to writing, her passions include the martial arts (she holds a black belt in Ju Jitsu and a brown belt in Aikido) and everything about the life she shares with her partner, Lee.

She states:
"When I began writing love stories about women more than two decades ago, I did it for several reasons. First, because I loved the process of giving form to the characters who populated my imagination and watching the written word materialize on paper (or on screen, as it happens these days). Secondly, there weren't many romances involving two women available anywhere, and I longed to see our stories told. Today, we are fortunate to have many fine writers sharing these works on the web and elsewhere. I am very grateful to be a part of that experience.

My web-posting experience began when I discovered fan fiction. The writing was excellent, the discussions lively, and the camaraderie supportive. This website is the result of that first encounter with the world of internet fiction. Through the generosity of many people who have posted my work on their web sites as well as the tremendous support of readers on the Rad-discussion list, I have discovered the incredible satisfaction of sharing what I write with others via both the web and print.

Yet another chapter in my adventure with writing fiction unfolded when, in 1999, Safe Harbor was accepted for publication by RAP books. I was soon immersed in the challenge of creating a published novel. Since that time I have learned to appreciate this final step in the creative process, and I hope to continue that experience well into the future."

5.0 out of 5 stars Long awaited sequel does not disappoint, September 21, 2003
This review is from: Beyond The Breakwater (Paperback)
In this sequel to Radclyffe's first published novel Safe Harbor, we catch up with Tory, Reese and Bri two years later.
While young lovers Bri and Carre are struggling with their relationship and the demands of adulthood, Tory and Reese are moving on with the next chapter of theirs... having a baby together.
This romance has more action than Safe Harbor. There are tough choices for both couples and dangerous events where Reese and Tory both incur risks and possible loss of life and where Bri and Carre risk losing the love they share.
With every twist and turn, we hope that love will prevail.

Radclyffe's character development is excellent as always. She gets to the point while letting us learn more about each character along the way. Her love scenes are both sensual and erotic, sometimes leaving little to the imagination. This book has more than one hero, but our main hero, Reese, is truly one of a kind. All of us wish we could have a hero like that in our lives.

This is a book that you will reread time and again, wishing you were right there.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Sequel As Good As The First, April 19, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Beyond The Breakwater (Paperback)
Take the romantic setting of Provincetown, add a sexy doctor and a gorgeous sheriff and you have the makings of an amazing, passionate, love story. In this sequel to SAFE HARBOR, Radclyffe again takes us into the lives of Reese and Tory and their family and friends. This story is as compelling and well written as the first and just as hot. If not hotter. Radclyffe is the leader in sensual, erotic, sexy love scenes. She boldly goes where other authors fear to go. You will not be disappointed.

It's about time there was a fresh approach to lesbian romance and Radclyffe is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Read - 4 great characters, November 26, 2004
This review is from: Beyond the Breakwater (Paperback)
I liked the first novel in this series and expected to enjoy this book. I Loved it ! The romance between the 2 main characters was wonderful. What kept me from putting the book down until finished was the rocky relationship with the two secondary characters. I kept wanting to knock some sense into one of them. Throughly enjoyable read.

Look for the newest edition published by Bold Strokes Books October 2004.
