About the Author

Patience Cameron Hoskins has been a hike leader and an active member of the Buckeye Trail Association and the Cleveland Hiking Club for many years. She is also the author of Cleveland On Foot.

Rob and Peg Bobel have spent years exploring the trails and towns of Northeast Ohio. They have written several other guides and are active members of the Cuyahoga Valley Trails Council, the Cuyahoga Valley Association, and the Sierra Club Portage Trail Group.

My husband, dog and I just moved to the Cleveland/Akron area from out west and needed to find new places for all of us to get away for a walk/swim. This book has been really helpful and the directions on the trails and how to get to them is accurate. Though many of the "hikes" we have taken were during the winter, we look forward to seeing the areas transformed in the Spring and Summer months. The book covers a wide area (which was PERFECT for us) but might be too spread out for those not interested in driving an hour or so to some of the locations. I am expecting in a couple of months and the detailed descriptions of the trails helps us decide if it is suitable for me while pregnant BEFORE trying it out.

Overall I recommend the guide as it has provided many, many days of exploring for our family.
