About the Author

Martin Plimmer is a journalist, broadcaster and author of the fictionalized memoir King of the Castle. Once, while in the waiting room of a hospital after banging his head, Martin found a two-year-old magazine open at an article he had written on the subject of headaches.

Brian King is an award-winning pioneer of radio fly-on-the-wall documentaries; the producer of hundreds of programs for BBC Radio, including the long-running series On the Ropes and also, coincidentally, presented by Martin Plimmer.

Format: Paperback
A little too gabby at first, and the attempts at Douglas Adams-type quips don't fly, but the book soon settles down and compiles a good number of synchronicities, though all in tidbit form and many that have been chronicled elsewhere. A few are given attribution but most are not, exacerbating the overly casual approach. There's nothing too revelatory and some of the cited coincidences are a real stretch, but it's a good compendium of some of the more well-known synchronicity accounts, along with some new anecdotes. I'd told myself I'd give this 3.5 stars if it had had the story about the woman who lost her camera in London, played a U.K. version of Monopoly, drew a "Chance"-type card that said "You've lost your camera; go to xxxxx station's lost and found to reclaim it"; she did in real life and it was there. But it didn't so I didn't.

Amazing stories, but it would have been more plausible and believable if the sources of these stories could have been verified and presented at the end of the book. We are forced to have to take these coincidences on the author's word alone.

Quite disappointed by the book as it was a blurb of stories with no thread. I was expecting a theory on coincidences but instead I got a list of stories with nothing in common, it was as reading a bunch of little papers collected on a research after they were thrown in the table.
