"What do you think of this world now?",
By Nothing (Monterey Bay, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beyond Comparison (Audio CD)
This album is a breath of fresh air in a world of sh*t. Even though it was put out in 1996, it is still one of my favorite albums to this day.
Musab is a natural lyricist. He can make any subject sound interesting. ALL of the tracks are ill as far as lyrics and production is concerned, but the standouts are: "Unaligned Sperms" w/ Slug and "Preparation". The album is far from monotonous. Each track has its own unique message and it is therefore easy to distinguish one track from another. Everyone can relate to most (if not all) of the material Musab discusses. Although he does not use insane similes and metaphors like Canibus, Ras Kass or Tame 1, his lyrics are still complex. Every time I listen to this album I hear something new that I didn't catch the previous time. That's the sh*t that I feel. If you feel the same then this piece of art would suit you well. Peace to everybody. Here are other albums I recommend for anyone reading this: Non-Phixion "The Future is Now" Hieroglyphics "3rd Eye Vision" GZA "Liquid Swords" Swollen Members "Bad Dreams" Necro "Brutality Part I" Ras Kass "Soul on Ice" and "Rasassination" Cage and Tame 1 "Waterworld" All Canibus albums EXCEPT "C True Hollywood Stories"

Get prepared cuz the war's comin' through,
This review is from: Beyond Comparison (Audio CD)
Early A.N.T, a young, upfront Musab, and a sprinkle of Slug makes for one classic recipe. For all the real heads, this is a good lesson.
Musab works well with his words here, requiring you to think about the message, while offering new realizations numerous listens later. His flow is just as head bobbin' as A.N.T's stripped down beats. Slug's guests appearances are on point as well. This is a tight ship. A great early Rhymesayers cut.
