Disappointed...,

I have Tarralyn's first CD and instantly loved it. I do not care for this CD at all. She oversings on all the songs and with her doing the lead and background vocals-it's too much.

I want to start off by saying that this CD goes beyond the darkness, past incredible, and well into amazing. Ms. Ramsey took her time to make sure that God was beautifully reflected in each song. Each song possesses depth and conviction. When Tarralyn reached up to heaven for inspiration to do this CD, inspiration came showering down. She didn't hold back on any of the songs y'all! She is truly a masterful vocalist. Many have compared her to Whitney Houston, but Tarralyn comes into her own with this CD. Her deep notes are mesmerizing, her mid-notes are beautiful, and her high notes are SECOND TO NONE.
People, please go out and purchase this CD. It is full of anointing, humility and SICK vocals. Find a quite spot, a lot of tissue, and get ready to worship. This CD will be around for years to come.

Terrible CD,

Tarralyn has a great voice as always, but maybe a little older sounding now that she has gotten older herself. You see the problem with this cd is first; she thought she could leave gospel, sing secular r&b, then creep back to gospel when the r&b thing didn't work. She's like Samson in the bible when he tried to shake himself and do the things he was doing before, but couldn't cause he lost his anointing. This is case one why on this cd she is singing so hard trying to regain what she had before she left. Next let's talk about the horrible music on each and every track. People there is no live band to be heard on this cd. Not like her very first cd where the flow of the band was heard through out. I couldn't recommend not one song on this cd and that is a crying shame. To have so much talent and not one song is worth buying this cd. I say wait for her anointing to come back and then try that cd out but don't waste you time or money on this. No Stars!

I have Tarralyn's first album and fell in love with her voice immediately. I saw her on "Born" on VH1 and wasn't interested in purchasing her secular album, but when I heard that she was coming out with another gospel album, I was so excited to get it. Well, now that I have it, I'm disappointed. She still has her beautiful, however I feel like she's over singing on all the songs, I don't know if it's to make up for her secular album. Beyond the darkness is missing something...I'm not 100% sure what it is. I've listened to this album once and don't think it will be listened to again. But one thing I do like about this album is that she's giving all praises to God!! However musically something is missing.

One of the first things that bothered me about this cd is lack of a live band. The other is the fact that there are so many errors in the spelling of the titles of her songs. If you are giving Glory to God you want everything to be perfect. Get it right!

This CD is classic Tarralyn. She hits all the right notes, especially the high ones. She is truly one of my favorite gospel singers.

I bought this album the day before it's Sept. 15th release date and was honored to have Ms. Tarralyn sign it and send me 2 pics! After nearly 10 years since her gospel debut, i was ANXIOUS to pop this into my cd player! To say the least, my cd player was ill prepared for this one!! I love ALL of the songs but especially the ballads where we can hear her vocal range...which is...AMAZING! Tarralyn has a strong, rich soprano voice!
Top picks: "I'll take your trouble" "God Emmanuel" "Feel Your Presence" "Wise Men Still Seek Him" (the girl sounds like an 80's Whitney Houston on this track!!!)

I purchased this CD because I loved her last CD that she put out in 1998 I believe it was. Not sure of the year but I love her voice. Something happened with this CD. It wasn't as powerful as her other ones. I didn't care for the CD at all. I don't know what to say. However, I do believe everyone deserves chance after chance. So I hope she puts out another CD but that it will be better than this one.

I have her other 2 albums and watched her win on VH1 Divas. Her voice is amazing. She is a true star. I am glad that she went back to gospel and admire her for starting her own record label. There are so many artists that make records and their voices don't even come close to hers. This is a must have.
