Book Description

September 30, 2008 1563675560 978-1563675560 2nd
This practical text takes students step-by-step through the preproduction processes of
apparel product development: planning, forecasting, fabricating, developing silhouettes
and specifications, pricing, and sourcing. It demonstrates how these processes must be
coordinated to get the right product to retail when consumers want it and at a price they
are willing to pay. Based on consultations with some of the most successful and innovative
firms in the fashion business, the Second Edition covers the evolving partnerships among
textile suppliers, product developers, manufacturers, and retailers as they work to develop
apparel products in today s customer-driven environment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Resource !!!!!!, February 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book provides a good overview of the product development process from different aspects of the fashion industry. I purchase the book as a requirement for a college course, but has found it to be very useful even after graduation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Merchandising Class, February 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Beyond Design: The Synergy of Apparel Product Development (2nd Edition) (Hardcover)
Ordered for Merchandising class. Informative but as the times change the information will become unusful. I confess I didn't read all of the chapters as I had an awesome instructor who was far more interesting than the text.
