This book shows different paths that American and world history could have taken. Author really held my interest all the way through. Some of the book centers around the space race. In addition the book covers space travel and colonizing the moon and beyond. When changes are made to affect the outcome of certain events, the books shows what would have happened if things were changed, and what things are fated to happen no matter what. Many important events in history are covered in this book. Everything is believable and I found myself wishing a lot of it happened like it does in the book. Excellent story - I couldn't get enough. Stayed up 'til 3:30am to finish. I'll look for more books by Cliff Ball.
I just love Alternative History story because of the interesting story that comes out of it. It seem like what ever the human race does in the timeline it never goes well until countless times though the timeline. But I am telling the whole story. This is a recommended read if you are looking for something different to read .
This is by far, the worst audio book I have ever heard! The story is plodding and without direction. It reminds me of something a young teenager would submit to grade school class. The narrator only made things worse. His damp fumbling monotone would put me to sleep if I didn't find it so irritating and depressing. The person who wrote the description should be praised for creative writing (fooled me). The person who green-lit this story to be posted should be fired.
I don't mind alternative histories and this story did go into some history events. No 'grammar' problems in the book that I noticed, but the wording style and the way some things were explained just did not grab me and made it a hard read in part.
I am giving it three stars mainly for the ideas in it, and also because the Author did cover or think about things (even if they were spelt out in a fairly simple/direct way which was hard to take at times). Perhaps better for a younger audience, but then the political/history aspects would probably pass over their heads. Also if you are American (and I am not) some aspects might appeal more, but I strongly suspect that your political leanings will play a large part as to whether you like the story line and, I expect, whether you possibly reach the end of the book.
Worst narration I've ever heard. The amateurish individual constantly mispronounced names (Piotr was mangled into Pie-otor.) Pathetic. Written as though the author were a nine year old presenting an elementary school writing project. I want a refund, Audible. This book is so far below your standards that someone should be fired for putting it up here.
