Editorial Reviews

Majestic Vanguard have their roots in the early 90's. Andreas Andersson, and later his brother Samuel Andersson joined up with a rock outfit from Falkoping a small town in the south of Sweden. The drummer in the band was Daniel Eskilsson. This was the first meeting between them. Some years later, Daniel, Samuel and Andreas were meeting accidentally in Falköping. They felt that their passion for "metal" was still burning, and decided to begin to play together again. The following years, they had to fight pretty hard to survive for private reasons. In September 2004 Johan Abelson joined on second guitar, and they decided to change the band's name to Majestic Vanguard. "Beyond The Moon" finally was recorded between March and June 2005 at Studio X in Falköping, Sweden, and produced by Daniel Eskilsson. Metal Heaven. 2005.

4.0 out of 5 stars another high quality melodic metal release, March 20, 2006
This review is from: Beyond the Moon (Audio CD)
My title just about says it all. If you are into Sonata Artica, without as much sonic speed, Edguy, or even Rob Rock solo albums you will like this. Crunchy riffs, melodic breakdowns, a singer who can hold his own and production that is not too slick. They are signed to Rivel Records which is owned by Chrisian Rivel of Narnia and Divinefire as well as others so you know you are getting quality. (you should be checking out Divinefire now!) A good start for this band, let's hope they can continue to improve from here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great beginning!, August 21, 2010

This review is from: Beyond The Moon (MP3 Download)
Majestic Vanguard is essentially a newcomer to the power metal scene. Coming in with 'Beyond the Moon' on New Year's day 2008. It was a great first effort. Everything is solid, it's not stellar, but it's definitely not bad. With more experience and more focus on better songwriting, this band could become another one of the great Christian Power Metal bands like Divinefire and Theocracy, among others. If and when a new album comes out, I hope to see power put into the music, and more aggressive playing. Power metal is not meant to be soft and unobtrusive. In all, a good band and the album is enjoyable, but it could've been better.
