strange lights,
By Osam Alwan (Bahrain) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beyond Photography: Encounters with Orbs, Angels and Light-Forms (Paperback)
This book had me hooked from the beginning, and my interest grew the more I read. The authors started off with simple orbs in their photographs and then progressed towards small fairy like images until they finally got humanoid like figures of light in the pictures!
That was the climax of the book for me because I believe the pictures are authentic. However, that was it, there were no more interesting things in the pictures (not to undermine the previous images). But I thought they would eventaully capture fully-fledged apparitions with details, or be contacted by something, yet that didn't happen (at least not in the book). But I do give credit to the authors for rigorously analyzing the photographs, like when they pointed out that some of the orbs were located behind objects (photographs 3 & 21) and thus ruling out camera glitches. And at the end of the book the authors give some theories about the light phenomena, where some are too spiritually oriented or new age.

Great Photos, disappointing text.,
By Nancy S. "Just Another Seeker" (Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beyond Photography: Encounters with Orbs, Angels and Light-Forms (Paperback)
The photos were wonderful and there were many. However the text rambles on and on covering so many "related" subjects (The Symbology of Orbs, dolphins, meteors, the Bible) that it can be a bit maddening. I question the way they circled around to some of the conclusions they came to as well. For example: "Does the fact that the majority of orbs and luminosities appear in places and circumstances that have no direct association with the dead suggest that they probably are not, in that context, exclusively spirit phenomena? Answer: Yes."
So in conclusion, regarding orbs and "luminosities", this is part of what they had to say: "What They are Not: They are NOT aliens, spirits of the dead, sprites, spirits of trees or faeries, though at times they have assumed all these forms; not to deliberately deceive us, but, we believe, to communicate. Very much like dolphins may mimic our behavior; these entities empathize with us as individuals and to some extent may reflect our individual beliefs." "What They Are" covered a page and a half and ended with, "If the Earth has a consciousness; and the luminosities are part of, or connected to it; then at times some humans may witness what is the equivalent, in planetary terms, to the electro-chemical activity of the mind."

Mysteries Magazine review,

The demands of debunkers for conclusive proof of hyper-dimensional phenomena have waylaid many a paranormal researcher. In light of the paucity of tangible evidence for the existence of the beyond, we seem to be left with no alternatives other than to believe our own subjective experiences. However, in Beyond Photography, readers are provided with ample evidence of various elusive phenomena, primarily in the form of orbs and angels.
''In the opening chapter, authors Katie Hall and John Pickering cite how only a few orbs appeared in their photographs at first but, over time, became more profuse. Once they realized they were tapping into an unknown realm and maintained receptivity towards the phenomena, it was as if an interdimensional floodgate opened up for them, enabling them to provide an amazing array of proof for both orbs and angels. Most noteworthy is that the photos were all taken with digital cameras that had various levels of memory capacity, which suggests that there may be an interface opening up between new technologies (digital cameras) and hidden dimensions. ''But perhaps most exciting is how "orb"ography has assisted people in further understanding observer-created reality, a concept in Quantum physics where we actually influence what we see and that there is really no such thing as pure objectivity. ''While skeptics will squawk that the anomalies captured on film result from lens distortion, solar refractions, or dust, the authors are careful to try a variety of techniques to sufficiently demonstrate that this is not always the case. Regardless of what is said, the potentials of this nascent artform are nothing short of profound. In light of these potential applications, Beyond Photography should be considered as a gateway into a wondrous world that has been far too long ignored. --Jaye Beldo Mysteries Magazine issue #20

I just finished reading this book and an anxious to pass it on to my sister. I enjoyed reading every page and looking at the photos. A good friend of mine suggested the book.
My sister takes a lot of photographs and is a good photographer. For the first time ever, she captured an orb. A beautiful large blue one with all the details on it I have seen in other orb pictures. It was in a brightly lit room and hovering over an 85 year old woman in a walker. A lot of people have studied it and no one can find a mundane reason for the orb. I have friends who have also photographed orbs.

I just finished this book, and I agree with what this reader states:
"But perhaps most exciting is how "orb"ography has assisted people in further understanding observer-created reality, a concept in Quantum physics where we actually influence what we see and that there is really no such thing as pure objectivity." Along with new possibilities that are being discussed in the scientific community concerning Quantum Physics and the probability of "multi-verses" and inter-dimensional phenomena, more and more people are beginning to consider and learn about a very healthy and w/holistic, newly emerging reality perspective or "paradigm" which revels a truth about our universe that helps us explain and understand the process of Life that we are all a part of: Namely, that all things are interconnected, and in this sense, we are in reality (like cells in the human body) individuals and at the same time: One. Read this book for some basic points that just might lead you to a broader, more inclusive view of our world and our universe. I would like to recommend this book to anyone interested in orb or spirit photography and the possible derivation of this phenomenon. It discusses all or most of the possibilities and potentials that we might be interested in, or concerned with. I believe that this book will help validate some of our own attitudes and understandings concerning the evolution of consciousness and earth changes, and the phenomena occurring on James Gilliland's Mt. Adam's (Washington State) ranch, and in many other places. Some descriptive keywords might be: Orb, spirit photography, transformation, UFOs, earth changes, multiple dimensions, reality perspective, consciousness, symbolism of unity, Oneness. Personally, I especially find pages 210-211, 225, and 226-230 very interesting, enlightening, and telling...

Outstanding Book - Personal Experiences,
By Lori Weakland (HOLTS SUMMIT, MO, US) - See all my reviews

I have always been 'spiritual', sensitive, whatever you want to call it. I had taken photo's with orbs, and a friend of mine told me what they were called, but nothing about them. I read this book and it opened my eyes. After reading this book, I followed some examples. Since I am sensitive, I have had success trying to communicate. I have so many stories and photos. They are not bugs. Not inside my living room, and not when I ask them to line up and they not only line up, they line up largest to smallest. I love the orbs. Thank you for writing this book. Peace.

Capturing The Marvellous,
By

I caught the orb bug a couple of years ago. Friends started mailing me images they taken with their digital cameras and pointed me in the direction of good orb sites. The bug had been laying dormant within me for nearly a decade as I'd encountered an earlier version of the phenomenon while merging myself with the magic of crop circles in the 90's. Back then it had been videos of tiny spinning, dancing globes whipping in and around the formations. In the interim I'd met a few psychics who said they saw nature spirits as tiny lights around house plants.
Now Katie Hall and John Pickering unfold their personal odyssey with the orbs. And what a fascinating story it is. Along with Leonore Sweet's "How To Photograph The Paranormal" and the more recent The Orb Project, it stands as the definitive encapsulation of the phenomenon as it currently stands. This includes, by the way, winged fairy forms and misty outlines of humanoid figures. An absolutely entrancing book, with just the right balance of history, analysis and personal experience. You'll love it. gordon phinn (wordofgord)

AWESOME book! Soooo interesting! And I believe the writers to be totally sincere & honest about their experiences with orbs. Their accountings validate what I've been discovering in my own research & photos.

Anyone who claims that orbs are spirits and lights are fairies and writes a book about it assumes that the reader is an idiot. Anyone who understands photography knows what an orb is and how it appears in photos; fairies are bugs. I think I will write a book of lies and make money.
