From Library Journal
This book is so full of cliches and analo gies that it is, at first, difficult to read. However, things improve considerably in the second half of the text and the tenacious reader will discover that Be yond Profit contains a great deal of sound advice and information. The val ue of this book lies in its continuing em phasis on focusing and planning as key to the successful management of any nonprofit organization. Concise strate gies for each aspect of the business are given. The diagrams and tables are good, and useful appendixes give infor mation on technical-assistance organi zations and college degree programs for the field. Listings of additional re sources are provided at the end of each chapter. Recommended. Maryann K. Gula, Director of Communications, March of Dimes Birth Defects Founda tion, New York
