Good book, but not her best!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beyond The Promise (Hardcover)
I am an avid reader of Barbara Bickmore books. "The Moon Below" was the best book I have ever read and I have managed to find all of her books but one. "Beyond the Promise" characters are interesting and believeable and the plot has its twists and turns which keeps your interest until the end. My daughters have read the book and they all liked it. Of course, we are waiting for her next book...out when???

I could not put it down!,

I loved this book! The descriptions of the Oregon landscape made me feel I was there. I cared deeply for the sympathetic characters and their compelling stories. I've laughed and cried through many wonderful Barbara Bickmore novels, and loved them all ... but this one is my favorite. Thanks, Ms. Bickmore ... and keep them coming!

This is the first book by Barbara Bickmore that I have read. I could not put it down. Excellent story. It talks about real life situations and feelings. I would highly recommend reading it, but not when you have to go to work the next day.

How could you not love it!,

I couldn't put this book down from the moment that I picked it up, it was so great. For those reviews that talk of how sexist, how much sex, etc, if you can appreciate the love that people have for each other and tragety and reality of life then this is a great book, just have an open mind. This is a book that touched me and showed me the love of one family and of their friends. I don't know how anyone could not love this book.

I thought this was one of the most tantalizing books I've read of Barbara Bickmore. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time reading. I can't wait for her next book to come out!

Missinformed about all homeschoolers being overproctive.,

Great Book. One exception, the author is missinformed about all homeschoolers. The majority of homeschooled kids in this country score well above the national average on SAT and ACT scores. Homeschooled children are generally found to be very socially adept with adults as well as with their own peers. I am public school teacher, wanna be homeschooler. Research this Ms. Bickmore before you make biased remarks.

A real tearjerker!,

What happened to Cat & Scott hit way too close to home. I had nightmares after reading it and almost did not finish the book. I did finish it but I know that I could never bring myself to reread it as I do so often with other books.

A page turner for sure!!,

This book was very different from her first novels "East of the Sun", "Distant Stat" etc. This was the first book of Ms. Bickmore's where the time frame was current(that I have read-I think there is one other one). I loved it. I wanted the story to go and on. I have to say the end was a complete curve for me but I hate it when reviewers give away plot points so I won't go into detail. The book did deal with some heavy topics but the author does it in a way you seem to be able to relate and understand the situation if you have never even done so in real life. Great read and I would suggest it to anyone. I am sad that I only have one book of Ms. Bickmore's left to read.....

Not what I expected from a romance novel!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beyond The Promise (Hardcover)
This book made for interesting reading. It was hard to get into at first, but picked up quickly. I was very disappointed to see that the main character, while pregnant, continued to consume coffee and alcoholic beverages, not seeming to care about her unborn child. I checked the publishing date to see if it was a reprint from something from the past. The ending was not at all what I expected... it surprised me. This book was okay but not the greatest I've read.
