I am absolutely loving the fact that real rock & roll music is starting to make a comeback. All across the globe bands are springing up to remind people that rock & roll used to be FUN, and can make you feel good. One of the best of this new breed of real rock & rollers is Sweden's Fatal Smile, who has a hard charging yet melodic hard rock sound that is somewhere between Motorhead and Twisted Sister.

Fatal Smile hit the scene in 2003 with their debut album Beyond Reality. The cover photo might turn you off or have you thinking this is some kind of punk band, but this is a very solid melodic hard rock album. It's not quite as polished as the band's later efforts, but it's still an impressive debut.

While I enthusiastically recommend checking out Fatal Smile, Beyond Reality probably isn't the best album to start with. Neo Natural Freaks will give you a much better idea of the true Fatal Smile sound. After that you'll definitely want to check out World Domination before looping back around to this album.

Fatal Smile is based in Sweden & I was lucky to catch these guys on their first U.S. tour and pick up this album. They rocked the house and this CD is on it!! From the title track to message minded songs like "Warfear"
The sound is a mix of classic 70's,80's metal ,H.B. Anderson on vocals reminds me of Whitesnake and Queensryche among others,& the sweet, sweet sound of Y Unutmaz cranking out melodies and solid guitar solos. If your looking for a fresh blast from the past or would like to switch it up from the NU Metal that is filling the air ways and CD racks this is your ticket. At the show they played the title track of there next album "Learn,Love,Hate" ,and it is awesome can't wait!!
