Book Description

You are invited to join a curious mind on a journey to explore the reality we live in—to examine the truth, the half-truth, and the lies. In the Second Collection, Kapuscinski delves into diverse ancient scriptures, as well as into the latest scientific discoveries. The author also demonstrates his unique perspective on subjects dealing with life and death.

The Essays do not claim to give you facile answers. They do claim to awaken in you a desire to think for yourself, to rely on your own judgment, to give you confidence to face the world on your own terms.

Some 5 STAR reviews from Smashwords:

In the Catholic Poland, I have been brought up in the midst a vast plethora of ecclesiastical mysteries. I always doubted that the saints, prophets, let alone saviours, would leave a legacy, which would be incomprehensible to later generations. Now, here, at long last, there are essays that prove my point.
All essays are informative, original—many are exciting. But after years of searching, of doubt, MYSTERY sated my inner needs. Read them all, but if you can’t, read MYSTERY. (Bohdan Czytelnik, Poland)

Only now I realize that I am reading Kapuscinski’s books in reverse order. I should have read all his Essays before tackling Visualization—Creating Your Own Universe. At least I bought his Dictionary of Biblical Symbolism before attempting to fathom the Key to Immortality. This man has a lot to say on great many subjects. He must be a speed-reader himself.
I am not. But of one thing you can be sure. I’ll read every one of his books, fiction and non-fiction. And, I suspect, some of them twice! (Hanna K. Loda)

There are subjects here I never thought about. Birds of Paradise? Wunderkind? Antichrist? Bliss? …and forty-eight others. All esoteric, seemingly weird, puzzling, peculiar… Only Mr. Kapuscinski lifts the veil of mystery to make them all real. Almost simple. This collection is not only educational but, believe it or not, it is full of fun! (Anetta Bach, Canada)

It is apparent that once you start reading Kapuscinski (or Law) you’re hooked. I know people who check almost daily for new titles emerging from this prolific writer. Not just books but articles, short stories, even poems…

The man is a veritable writing machine, yet he never sacrifices quality. A rare trait indeed. As for his Essays, it is fascinating to watch his philosophy develop and expand. (Adam Kerry, Canada)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Sequel to Beyond Religion I December 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
In Beyond Religion II, Mr. Kapuscinski continues to take us on our mind-opening journey, delving into both mysteries that have previously confused us, and some mysteries we have not previously thought about.

Again, Mr. Kapuscinski's enormous base of religious, scientific, and mythological knowledge makes this a truly enlightening read. And as always, the author's wit and humor in the text make it constantly enjoyable.

As with Beyond Religion I, many of the essays influenced me right away, some required some reflection and additional thought, and some I have bookmarked to read again.

I can't wait to move on to Beyond Religion III, and have already put Visualization--Creating Your Own Universe and Dictionary of Biblical Symbolism on my reading pile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enriching December 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
As with Beyond Religion I, if you can check your pre-conceived notions and brainwashings at the door, then read this book, Mr. Kapuscinski will open your eyes and your mind, and enrich your life. You will think differently when you are done.

Mr. Kapuscinski's style, with a constant blend of wit and humor, remains a pleasure to read. Although obviously far more knowledgeable than the rest of us, Mr. Kapuscinski never gets "preachy", simply presenting the information for the audience to consume.

I walk away enriched, yet yearning for more of Mr. Kapuscinski's work. In fact, I've already started Beyond Religion III

5.0 out of 5 stars The nature of truth and reality August 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Stanislaw Kapuscinski's (aka Stan I. S. Law) "Beyond Religion II" is a collection of essays that investigates the nature of truth. One of the things I really enjoyed about the collection is that Kapuscinski extensively references both scriptures, including less-referenced holy documents, such as the Gospel of Thomas, and scientific findings throughout the essays. At the end of each essay the references are academically cited, so you can follow up with the source documents if you wish. I feel like in a lot of works that investigate truth/reality completely neglect scientific findings -- Kapuscinski is not one of those authors. Science is a huge part of his investigation of truth. I particularly enjoyed the section on Einstein's theories. The highlight of this collection of essays, however, is that Kapuscinski gives you thinking points for starting your own journey toward truth. He does not say, "This is how to find truth and investigate reality." Instead, he offers thoughtful, academic information on truth that is yours to do with what you will. The essays are incredibly thought-provoking, and Law cites many documents that I was completely familiar with. There is an essay on "Suicide" that is particularly affecting for me. I had never considered the philosophical ramifications of taking one's own life before. Recommended to anyone who wants an open-minded, unbiased investigation of the nature of truth and reality!
