Great for us allergy sufferers, December 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Beyond the Staff of Life: The Wheatless-Dairyless Cookbook (Paperback)
Although the recipe titles are a bit dated, the recipes are creative and delicious. The book was obviously written in the early days of natural foods when more items like lima bean flour were easily available. Still I find the book extremely useful.

A Godsend for people who want to try gluten free cooking without the junk!, March 5, 2011
I bought this book way back in the early 80s.
I used it while I was experimenting with gluten free cookery and found it a great help and felt much better following the recipes.
I've recently decided to go gluten free again and returned to the book for some advice and help.
I agree with the original reviewer that some of the flours such as Lima Bean were easy to find way back then when Wholefood stores, even in my city would sell loose ingredients by the pound.
I've no idea where to get Lima Bean flour nowadays and even the other ingredients tend to be pre-packaged in amounts I might not want to buy.
So much for the "green," revolution eh?
;O)
However, there are still a number of recipes in the book which I intend to use during the experiment and I thank Mr Adler for writing a book which is far better, even nowadays than many I've seen!
