“…thought-provoking, philosophical discussion of what happiness really is, and what it takes to achieve it…a dialogue that should benefit everyone…”
Foreword magazine
Ask those who have achieved their ultimate dream—whether it's related to career, fortune, or fame—and they will most likely tell you that something is still missing. As Jeffrey Gitterman reveals, when it comes to success and happiness, we often find more exhilaration in pursuing our goals than in attaining them. So what does this mean for those of us who strive for fulfillment? We can't just stop trying, can we? Is there any way to truly feel fulfilled? Beyond Success presents simple principles to help us:
• redirect our efforts toward what we want to express in the world, rather than what we want to get or how we want to feel
• experience ongoing peace while still working toward our material goals
• map a plan for the future which embraces a continually evolving life story
• derive personal satisfaction through our affect on others
This book provides a down-to-earth process for finding peace and contentment within the real world...all the while redefining the meaning of success.

Not your typical self-help book,
By David (Glastonbury, CT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beyond Success: Redefining the Meaning of Prosperity (Hardcover)
I find most books that attempt to help me redefine my path through life a tad indulgent and difficult to implement. I've read The Secret and other valiant attempts to create a success manual for life. Not until the simple Pillar building strategy in Beyond Success have I actually been successful in the actual implementation of a new life plan. A big thanks to the author for coming up with such a simple, well thought out approach to redefining what is truly important and how to work towards true inner peace.I am now starting my second reading of this book and I am actually finding myself writing notes in the margins and dog earing pages. I have never done this before. I recommend this book highly - it is the closest thing I have found to the secret sauce to understanding what drives us and how to redirect our energy to produce the results we want out of life. Life is not random - it is in our control and moving forward with deliberation is half the battle. [...]

Fantastic and Refreshing!,

Not knowing what to expect when opening this book, I resulted in having a new, profound view on life. Having read other books of similar genre never has one had such a powerful effect on me. The book was liberating. The author grabbed me from the very beginning. I found myself turning pages with enthusiasm, which is rare for a book of this kind (they can often be a painful read). Many times I found myself nodding in agreement with the author, as if he understood me. The points made in the book are so true, that I find myself rehearsing them to friends and family. I have become an ambassador for the book...that's how great it is!This book gave me real-life advice on how to filter out the clutter in my mind, and the constant to do list (you know that one that always translates to feelings of guilt and inadequacy) so I can embrace the calm bliss I have craved. A definite must read for everyone....no matter what stage of life or career you are in.

Jeffrey speaks to everyone, only the chosen few listen,

This review is from: Beyond Success: Redefining the Meaning of Prosperity (Hardcover)
: "I recently had the privilege of meeting Jeffrey. He walks his talk! This is the book to read if you still "don't know what you want to be when you grow up" or you DO know and everyone thinks you are crazy. A great thinking read when everyone tells you that you have it all, and yet, you know that there is something very important "missing". Jeffrey speaks to everyone, only the chosen few listen."
