Editorial Reviews

Review

From the concept and lyrics to the artwork, music and production, this entire album is a success. 5/5 --The Music Appraisal

From the Artist

This has been by far most inspired work to date. I have drained all my soul and energy into creating a work encompassing struggles in life many can relate to. I feel that the emotion released on this record finds itself evident all throughout.

About the Artist

Abreaction is a solo act from Chicago packed with heartfelt lyrics and melodic rhythms. The name stems from a psychological term meaning, “the purging or release of repressed emotions.” Arpan Shah, the sole member, first picked up a guitar in the summer of 1994 to join a band with his high school friends. Creative differences put a mutual end to the band, but Arpan continued to write music inspired by relationships, the search for truth, and experiences that later defined his identity. Arpan has recorded three albums under the name Abreaction. The first two were recorded with just a voice and acoustic guitar but on the third album, Arpan aimed for a more diversified sound by using other instruments including the electric guitar, bass, and even some drums. The third album entitled Beyond These Clouds is conceptual in the sense that each song corresponds to a paragraph and can be read from beginning to end as a story. The album chronicles the struggles of a guy battling through a choice he has to make, its twist in the middle, and its reflective end.

Product Description

A concept album from the acoustic based artist Abreaction. Unlike Abreaction's previous releases, this third release has a more layered sound using different instruments. A story is crafted into this album about a person coming to terms with a decision needing to be made. Story and lyrics are included in the CD booklet.
