About the Author

ALICE SMITH is cofounder and executive director of the U.S. Prayer Center in Houston, Texas. Alice has a Doctorate from Wagner Leadership Institute, and is the co-editor of Insight, a weekly email newsletter received by thousands of praying Christians in more than 90 nations. Alice is an internationally known conference speaker and the author of several bestselling books, including Beyond the Lie, Delivering the Captives and Spiritual Intimacy. She is also the co-author, with her husband, Eddie Smith, of Spiritual Housecleaning: How to Protect Your Home from Spiritual Pollution.

Alice Smith is cofounder and executive director of the U.S. PRAYER CENTER in Houston, Texas.

She is a member of America's National Prayer Committee, the International Reconciliation Coalition, and the International Strategic Prayer Network. Alice studied music at Houston Baptist University, and recently earned her Doctorate of Ministry from Wagner Leadership Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Alice's first calling is to intercessory prayer and to represent a life of integrity and transparency to the body of Christ.

Alice conducts seminars, retreats and conferences, both locally and internationally, on a variety of subjects including intercessory prayer, spiritual intimacy, personal freedom, spiritual warfare, and spiritual mapping.

She is a regular contributor to Charisma, Ministries Today, Spirit-Led Woman, and Pray! magazines. Alice is a regular guest on CBN's 700 Club, and an occasional guest on Benny Hinn's, This is Your Day.

Years of a thristy heart and no one to define this yearning, I was filled with wonder and unspeakable joy when I read this book and found the answers to my many questions. When there were years of a deep calling in the heart and a unexplainable love for God and no one to define this aching,it was like sighing in relief as I read the very things that God had been doing in and through me was not my imagination but and an actual experience with the Holy One.

There are many men and women who have had as deep and abiding relationship with the Sovereign Lord, Jesus Christ. To actually put down on paper this life experience of relating to God on a personal bases would refresh the mind and bring delight to the heart. Like one receiving a cool drink of water, this book settled any question of scriptural correctness in relating to God, the Father.

It is unfortunate that there has not been sufficient scriptural teaching on prayer but this book opens the door to freeing the heart and the longing to please God. Also it releases the reader to find their God given expression and then to enjoy and release others to their God given expression.

I am sorry that some readers may take an offence to this book and the information inside. But let us be responsible readers and look up the scriptures for ourselves and see that God has laid out a pattern for relating to Him and He will never leave us without an answer. In the search for truth, God will not disappoint but meet us on that road to understanding. Thus He gives people who have walked before us and can point the way. We grant teachers the permission to mold our minds and provoke us to learn, should we not see these gifted men and women (like Alice Smith)as providers of instruction and education?

Thank you Alice Smith for being vulnerable and risking exposure of a deep and personal relatonship that many of us long for and have not yet known. This book will open the door to a journey filled with surpises and wonder, plus a depth of relating to God long awaited for.

It is a rare privelege to not only have had a book touch and change my life over the past ten years but also to know and be impacted by the life of the author, Alice Smith. Beyond The Veil shares the heart of a woman who has a passion for God, for His people and for lost souls. Making a way for others to walk in intimacy with God and receive His burden of love for others, is the heart of this book and ministry of Alice Smith. I highly recommend this book to anyone who desires to learn more about walking closer to God and how prayer on behalf of others can touch and change the lives of many. Your life will never be the same after reading Beyond The Veil!

I don't know what book the previous reviewer read, but the Beyond the Veil, by Alice Smith that I read was deeply bathed with scriptural references. It not only was based in a biblical foundation, it literally draws you beyond the typical teaching on prayer and encourages you towards a greater understanding of God's desire for every Christian in prayer. I found that through the teaching is this book, my relationship with God was intensified and I began to see how God could use me to effectually partner with Him in prayer to see changes on our physical world and in the lives of the people around me. If you are desiring a deeper level of relationship with God, I urge you to get this book and begin to understand how to partner with God in intercession. If you put into practice what you learn from this book, you will experience the joy of seeing God working in the lives of those you interceed for and you will know by witnessing for yourself how God changes things when we partner with Him in prayer.
