"Beyond the Wild Bunch" rates five stars for (1) thorough treatment of the subject (2) exceptional production values (3) excellent color photography (4) a wonderful assortment of western movie themes and (5) a screamin' deal. This is a $40 book for less than $30, and whether you're a cowboy action shooter or not, if you have one drop of Old West blood, you'll relish this superb volume.

This is a wonderful book on the subject of Cowboy Action Shooting. The narrative is literate, funny and informative and the photos are outstanding. A great addition to any library on the subject of Cowboy Action shooting

I purchased this book expecting it to be about the "Wild Bunch" category of Cowboy Action Shooting. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with that aspect of the sport. Beyond the cover photos, which depict a "Wild Bunch" reenacting of the movie's final scene, there is no mention of the "Wild Bunch" category. This was VERY disappointing; nevertheless, if you like Cowboy action Shooting this book is in the "nice to have" collection.

The book offers a very basic explanation of the CAS sport. Many of its points are repeatedly made. I'm not sure if that was to fill pages, or in case the reader didn't start at page one. The photos were very nice and it presented the topic for beginners. I suspect anyone who would be considering Cowboy Action Shooting wouldn't need this book as a tutor; but rather as a coffee table decoration, since the sport is somewhat addicting.

Ultimately, I was disappointed that there was no information about the "Wild Bunch" shooting category; and found the information much too basic; BUT still enjoyed the book and would not think of parting with it, as long as I'm involved with CAS.

I found the book to be very informative and helpful. However, the title, Beyond the Wild Bunch" is misleading in that i expected more information regarding Wild Bunch competition. The information was very helpful in guiding the reader toward the Cowboy Action competition and equipment necessary to participate. Overall an excellent book and a good instructional manual, Keith Leoni.
