Election Fever is a political fiction of about 40,000 words which examines the dilemma facing the electorate in an unnamed African country as electioneering campaign gathers momentum.

It is a difficult choice between a corrupt party in power and a main opposition party which is seeking power once again to have their share of the loot with vengeance.

Mr Ernest Kofi Nukunu, head teacher of an elementary school, was among those who embraced a revolution launched in the country to rid it of high level corruption, mismanagement, dishonesty and other social ills. Later, however, the head teacher’s interest in the process wanes, the revolution having lost its original focus.

There is disappointment throughout the country since, in spite of the sacrifices made in the name of the revolution, including the loss of human lives, corruption and other vices at high places have become the order of the day, worse than the one seen in the pre-revolutionary years.

As the year’s general elections approach, there are hot arguments about which party and candidates to vote for. It is a difficult choice between the ruling party which claims to emerge from the revolution and the main opposition party, rather viewed by some with more suspicion.
