I'm a personal trainer and agree that body fat can be tricky to measure. That said, this scale is very, very consistent. It will not necessarily match what you get on a dexa, etc. (my wife and I were only 0.5% from our caliper tests on athletic mode, which is pretty good since one caliper measurement to another can vary this much) so the goal is really to track your body fat and weight over time. This scale excels there. Setup a spreadsheet, measure yourself at the same time of the day, preferably right after a morning shower when your feet are moist (ladies dry your hair first), and track your progress.
Easy to setup, easy to use for two people plus random guests.
The weight is dead accurate even for doing postal packages etc.
Also, looks pretty nice.

Bought this scale after reading the reviews. Am very happy with it. It is the first scale I have ever had (including several high priced digitals) that actually gave accurate and consistent readings. If I step on it three times in a row, it gives the same reading, most do not. And it even does tenths. I love it. I was shocked, tho, one day when it said I had lost half my weight. I then realized that my cleaning folks had inadvertently changed it from lbs to kgs. I had a good laugh!

This scale was recommended by Consumer Reports magazine. I could not find in any store. Amazon is great for this type of situation.

The scale was recommended because of its accuracy in weight measurement. I strongly believe that it is correct in weighing my family and I.

I love this scale. Press the middle button to get just your weight, but if you program in your stats - press the 1 or 2 button and get your body fat and water content.

I like that it has the two buttons for two different people to program in their status. Perfect for my husband and I.

Very easy to use, and runs on standard AA batteries. I have been using the same batteries for over a year without having to change them.

Love that I can get just a quick weight if I want to without getting the rest.

Highly recommend. This scale is accurate and for the price is a good deal.

EDIT: January 2012 and the scale is still going strong. I just now changed the batteries for the first time and we use this regularly (my husband and I, and now our 8 year old likes to use it frequently too). It works just as well as the day we got it and I can't say enough nice things about this scale. I'd buy it all over again.

Nice scale but body fat % is up and down depending on if you are properly hydrated. If your % water is low, it will give a high body fat reading. If you are properly hydrated then the reading is more accurate. It is better to have hydration above 60% and the closer to 70% the better. I have learned to not test in the morning. I wait til I have drank plenty of water and test in the afternoon and my reading is alway more accurate. If I test first thing in the morning my reading is up to 7% off. This scale helps with staying hydrated also, I use it for this more than the body fat %. Overall, I am happy with purchase.

In terms of precise weigth measurement, this thing is great. But in terms of body fat readings, it's not accurate at all. I got this scale for the express purpose of reading body fat and I should have known better. How in the world do I go from 16.5% body fat in the morning to 14.2% in the evening? I really don't get it and even when I measure at the same time every day, it fluctuates like crazy! I can't get any sort of reading in terms if I'm heading in the right direction: 17.1% one day, 16.5% the next, 15.3% the next, and then 16.8% the next...all in a span of 4 days. So if you're looking for just weight, by all means get this or any other cheaper scale. But for body fat %, don't expect consistency at all.

The weight measurement seems to be accurate and consistent for this scale. As far as the body fat and other measurement it takes - I have no idea how accurate that is at all. But I do recommend this scale because it is digital and seems to be accurate for the weight.

It seems to work well. Not sure about the body water feature because it didn't change much after drinking an unusual amount of water one day. But maybe that's the problem, only 1 day.
It's easy for our children(9,7,2) to use too to see how they are growing. The little one likes to see the numbers appear after he gets on.

I'm mostly concerned with the weight aspect. Does everything I need. Use the other info as a guide. Very helpful. Worth the $. Far better and reliable than the average scale and when you figure rate used versus cost - you'll get your monies worth easily over time. Your health is important enough and there is nothing more frustrating than using an unreliable scale. This is reliable for me.
