5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Intro read with the Bhagavad Gita, January 29, 2000

This review is from: Bhagavad Gita: An Introduction (Paperback)
The Bhagavad Gita is one of the worldest greatest scriptures which is studied over one's lifetime. If you are familiar with the Gita and wish to understand the breadth of the yoga tradition, then this guidebook will allow you to understand the cultural setting and philosophy of the Gita. When reading scriptures that were written thousands of years ago, knowing the cultural setting helps one contextualize the profound truths for application for one's life today. Likewise, having a philosophical guide to the Gita may help deepen the level of inspiration found in this text. This is good for college students or scholars as a resource, also.
