With the overwhelming dismalness of our modern American pop music, artist have been scratching to the pits of the past, seventies, sixties, eighties music, trying to drain out some originality from old classic hits. Rap artist have went outside of the hip/hop genre and even went as far as to have Indian singers lending their exotic vocals to their songs.

Don't waste your time with such minute pieces of originality. Indian music, and Punjabi music in general is so mystifyingly brilliant and catchy that it is a wonder that it hasn't found its way into the mainstream foreign music scene yet. Each song on this collection of hits is so catchy, original, and incredible that you will be bumping and banging all over the place.

I was happy with the three songs I enjoyed from the Bend it Like Beckham soundtrack, but this cd blows that out of the water. The absolute best Indian pop music I have heard yet, and probably the best ever. I hope there is a collection as perfect as this one filled with such variety of vocals and beats.

This CD dragged me into the wonderful world of bhangra and I've never looked back. The hypnotic beats, great vocals and shining melodies...the previous reviewer said it: It seems to me as well that many people listen to western pop music just because they don't know better. But it's never too late to open your ears - I recommend taking a shot at bhangra!

When deciding to buy this CD on amazon,I was a little hesitant since I could'nt sample the songs before buying,but thanks to the other reviews on the page I took my chances;and they were right the CD is GREAT!I love EVERY bangra beat on this CD.A good mix of male and female singers and beats,when you here it, you just can't help but DANCE.Both my children and I always dance around the house when the musics on.I have other bangra cd's but this one beats them all!!Wonderful!

This album represents a good range of bhangra and bollywood music. VERY danceable and upbeat, with some hot male and female singers. A great intro to bhangra!

A friend of mine had a Bhangra CD and I really liked it, so I bought five different Bhangra/Punjabi dance CDs to try them out. Of the five, Bhangra: Original Punjabi Pop had the best variety. I highly recommend it if you are a beginner to the genre. And, no, you don't have to speak the language to enjoy it! I listen to it in my car, when I workout, cleaning the house. It gets your toes tapping! :o)

While this CD is full of rhytmic tones and lyrics, it wasn't what I expected. My knowledge of Bhangra is limited but I was hoping for harder, faster, more inspiring songs for dance and excercise. I was hoping for Jazzy B-like tunes but instead I would say the songs are a bit to plain and sweet. They kind of reminds me of island music or old-school reggae.

I love this CD. It's fun spunky and different! Great upbeat music to listen to while cleaning or doing cardio!

Inspired to investigate more into the world of "Bhangra" by the appearance of "Signature" on "Britain's Got Talent" where they used the catchy, foot-tapping song "Nachna Onda Nei" by "Kaka Bhania" I decided to buy this generic volume as a starting point.

All I can say is that the music on this album never fails to make me feel good and the beats, melodies and words ( No, I do not speak Urdu but who cares!! ) are beautifully refreshing.

I try to broaden my horizons musically as far and as often as I can and this is one departure from the "norm" that I am delighted to have taken. It also provides me with many a humorous moment and frequent odd looks as I roll into the truck stop to fill my 18-wheeler with fuel. I suppose they were expecting Lynyrd Skynyrd!!!!

I love this cd. I was exporing other types of belly dance and found this cd. I listen to it all the time.
Super upbeat, fast tempo. Recommend to anyone who is exploring this type of music, this one will get you hooked on Bhangra!
