A 19th Annual Lambda Literary Awards Finalist!

The bisexual man's bedroom door swings wide open to reveal the depth of the male bisexual erotic experience in this collection of short stories!

The vast majority of bisexual fiction is created by bi women, but not this collection! Editor Ron Suresha knows that bi male readers have different needs and preferences than bi women, has brought together a unique collection of outstanding writing about the bi male sexual experience in Bi Guys: Firsthand Fiction for Bisexual Men and Their Admirers. With stories from renowned queer authors Felice Picano, Patrick Califia, Dale Chase, Simon Sheppard, Thom Wolf, Bill Brent, and Marco Vassi, and more, this is bisexual erotica with a decidedly masculine viewpoint . . . erotica with undeniable male heat. . . erotica you won't soon forget!

In Bi Guys:

Marco Vassi, one of the most celebrated erotica writers of our time, gives us a window into the erotic thoughts of men who reach previously unknown heights of pleasure--both physical and spiritual--while exploring their bisexuality

Felice Picano, the Dean of gay fiction, delivers two sexually charged tales--one delving into the inner workings of a gay relationship that is suddenly threatened by one of the men's new young female lover, and the other taking us behind closed doors as a "straight" repairman is seduced by a horny (male) client

Bisexual transman Patrick Califia contributes a hot and harrowing no-holds-barred S/M B/D adventure that takes sexuality into territory where none but the bravest dare to go

Kevin Green, a regular contributor to Handjobs magazine, brings us along as a young man is initiated into sex by several of his uncle's buddies and one very willing lady

Bill Brent, whose stories appear in Rough Stuff and Best Gay Erotica 2002 and 2004, lets us accompany him to the Omnivorous Orgy, "San Francisco's Biggest Bacchanalian Bash for Bad Boys and Bodacious Girls"

Jay Neal, whose work has been published in Best Gay Erotica, Bear Lust, and Kink, tells the tale of a young man who, while engaged to a beautiful debutante, is initiated into sex by his fiancée's twin brother. If you've ever been disappointed with erotica that claimed to be for bisexuals but ultimately was written for and by bisexual women (or straight men obsessed with bi women), Bi Guys: Firsthand Fiction for Bisexual Men and Their Admirers will be a breath of fresh air. This collection is certain to raise your interest and energize your libido with its fiercely masculine point of view!

3.0 out of 5 stars striving for utopia, October 31, 2007

This review is from: Bi Guys: Firsthand Fiction for Bisexual Men and Their Admirers (Paperback)
The "firsthand" in the title means "one-handed" or "left-handed." This is not for readers sensitive to erotic matters. The entries are short stories, so there's no space to build to the erotic; the authors hand this to the readers immediately.

Brett Beemyn previously wrote two books on male bisexuality: one was sociological and one focused on cultural studies. Ron Suresha follows that path. This book contains fiction while his last book consisted of personal narratives. He doesn't say the books should be read together, as Beemyn did. However, his introductions to both books are quite similar.

One thing that stood out to me is the utopian, idealistic spaces the authors developed here. There is no biphobia against which the main characters must struggle. Stories include men whose wives accept their relations with other men or bisexual men who connect with each other and form bonds. No straight person or gay person forces these men to choose an identity. The characters aren't pressured to proverbially "pick a team." Honestly, erotica for monosexually gay males may lack homophobia too. Still, these stories on a minority group where oppression doesn't happen stands out.

I really think this book is for readers who are tired of absolutely straight erotica or its absolutely gay counterpart. This book just glues straight and gay together. It's like much of the genre, but has men desirous of both genders, rather than just one. Like the editor's other bisexual male book, I found the absence or paucity of men of color as main characters to be problematic. Don't let the book's cover deceive you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Porn, for everybody!, January 4, 2010

This review is from: Bi Guys: Firsthand Fiction for Bisexual Men and Their Admirers (Paperback)
The contains many bisexual pornographic stories, most of which are either M/M (when the bisexual part comes from one of the guys being married to a woman, "off-screen"), or M/M/F, where the guys also have have sex with each other.

It's enjoyable, well-written, but not that much better then what you can find readily on the Internet. If anything, I expected stories that are longer, more emotional and involving considering the title. I think most authors just didn't want to expose themselves; but reading about the real sexual exploits of acutal bisexual men would have been, I think, more interesting then just regular porn. Even good porn.
