This is the second item I've purchased from this supplier and all I can say is "Wow!". I am more than completely satisfied with the quality of this furniture. The craftmanship is superb. In an age where everything seems to be cheaply "made in China", this futon frame is solid, beautiful, and a bargain. I was especially attracted to the unfinished wood and simple design. This is definitely a "YES!".

This is an excellent frame that was easy to put together and has held up well so far for what we needed. If you are looking for something fancier - its not for you, but made a terrific extra no-frills bed/sofa in a study we had.

One page of very clear instructions; can be assembled w/o searching for missing parts; all parts fit together well! The tulip poplar wood is beautiful.

This futon in combination with our mattress is super comfortable both as a couch and a bed. It was delivered much faster than expected, came in a very condensed box with all the right parts. Assembly was easy (I think, my husband did it with no complaints). At first, with just the frame set up, I thought it was super low to the ground, but once the mattress was on it, it was normal. The part I do not like, is that the back folds down rather than the front pulling out. It is a huge pain in the neck to fold it back and forth between the two positions, especially with the weight of the mattress. I have to pull the whole couch far away from the wall, get behind it, push the back of the mattress forward with one hand, and bend down with my other hand to lift and pull the lever back to flatten the frame. I'm panting by the end. So, I love it until I have to mess with it. But it was only $109 so I know it's not a luxury futon!

We needed a simple solution for a couch/bed for a small room in our house. This seemed ideal as the price is right and the size is perfect. The frame arrived within only a couple of days and packaged very well with no excess/foamy materials to clog up our trash - just the pieces to the frame, a box and some plastic wrap, thats it, and no scratches or dents! Assembly was easy and the instructions were written in clear English (not that Ikea pseudo-English). You just need a small hammer for the pegs and a cordless screwdriver for the wood screws. I assembled it in my livingroom while watching tv in about an hour. Once assembled the frame is light weight, easy to move around and feels quite sturdy. Comfort will depend on your mattress, but with a high quality mattress it is a comfortable couch and a good bed. (I would imagine this is a great solution for studio apartments and dorm rooms as well). Finally, you are buying from the manufacturer so you are not getting something mass produced in some far off land, if there are issues they are easy to contact and helpful (we thought we had acidentially double ordered at the time and they pulled up our order in only minutes and sorted it out immediately). Shipping is not cheap, but remember this is a pile of lumber they are sending after all. Great company, great product, very highly recommended!

finally, a product made in the USA i had a metal futon i purchased at walmart that cost close to 300, within a year it was completely destroyed with normal use. So bad that it was more comfortable to sleep on the floor. Poor quality! so i decided to buy something that was made of wood i looked everywhere and this was the best deal. I was a little suprised about the 50 dollar shipping, but when i received it i could see why. It was about 50 pounds of lumber. The futon was very simple to put together and i could actually read the instructions. All you need is a small hammer and a screwdriver. I finished by myself within an hour and it was so sturdy, much different than my made in chine 300 dollar metal frame. It doesnt have the mission style arms like my last one but the quality is so much better. I suggest this to anyone. Well worth the 100 dollars it cost.

We bought this futon frame a week ago and are so happy with it so far. We decided to stain the wood, and purchased all the necessary products at Lowes for around $20. It only took one coat with an all in one stain to achieve the look we wanted. It was so easy and dried within 24 hours. (See my photo in the image gallery). This is a very well made product, I put it together in around 30 minutes, (partly because I read over the instrutions before I started staining). The shipping was very fast and all the pieces were in perfect condition. We also bought an 8" mattress and futon cover and didn't even spend $300. If you tried to buy our frame (now stained) at any furniture store, it would cost you at least $300!! What a good deal this is!!

The frame looks nice, is US made, and the instructions are easy to read. Shipping was fast and easy. Pay special attention to the instructions. If you're off by one step it will not go well. They even warn you in the instructions. Pay attention to which way the middle-bottom feet are pointed. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for a basic frame, and this is easier to deal with than other more expensive frames.

I'm 19 years old and female. I put this futon frame together with in 2 hours with no help. All parts were there and it arrived with in the time frame. It is perfect for a small dorm room, or even an apartment. I would recommend this item.

I ordered this item Sunday night; was notified that it had shipped Monday, and found it waiting on the porch Tuesday when I got home. Box is very compact--futon is completely disassembled, which I knew when I ordered it.

Instructions are 2 pages front and back, but all pieces were pictured in an accurate way that made it easy to identify them. It should be noted that three college girls with limited hardware experience assembled the futon in about an hour. We used a hammer and Philips' head screwdrivers, but a drill probably would have been better to get the screws in.

The only assembly instruction I felt could have been done better was to put the support slats (the slat in the middle of the back and seat frame) on before screwing the back and seat frames to the base. We had to pick up and turn the futon completely over to make sure the support slats were screwed in tightly.

I couldn't tell from the picture, but when the futon is in the sofa position, there are no back "legs"--the futon sits on the floor. However, in the adjustable setting we are using, the seat still feels level with the floor and it is such an improvement over the sagging futon we just threw out. This futon seems stable and sturdy with the 3 of us all sitting on it at once.

We bought this futon to replace not one, but 2 of the black metal futons Wal-mart was selling for $100 each. Already I appreciate the adjustable design of this futon over the metal one, as there are no springs or metal bits that "chew" on the cushion. (We discovered holes in our futon cover when we moved the cushion off to take the old one apart.)

All in all, a very clean, fresh design that seems very sturdy and was easy to put together, even for 3 non-hardware savvy gals.
