5.0 out of 5 stars Great expresso maker
Use med.-low heat for gas and you are ready in 11 minutes. Make sure the stainless steel filter is always facing in the right direction or the expresso maker will leak. Be aware that they are talking about expresso cups (demitasse 2.5 oz cup) and not the savage sized coffee addicts cup we Americans are use to using. Also, most civilized people add milk at a ratio of 1:1,...

1.0 out of 5 stars poor performance
I have an aluminum model and I have not had any problems for years. I merely wanted an upgrade. I was skeptical of this model based on others reviews, and I received one of the bad ones. For whatever reason it just didn't work. Odd as there are minimal parts, and I checked for obvious clogs, etc. and there did not appear to be any. Perhaps it was the over pressure...

Be aware that they are talking about expresso cups (demitasse 2.5 oz cup) and not the savage sized coffee addicts cup we Americans are use to using. Also, most civilized people add milk at a ratio of 1:1, so if you make five demitasse cups of expresso (12.5 oz.), then your coffee maker should produce around 6 oz. of pure expresso.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value, February 25, 2007
The one feature I especially like about this pot is its wide bottom. It's very stable and doesn't teeter on a gas burner like some others (i.e., the "Ilsa") do. The handle doesn't get burning hot like metal handles can. It has a straightforward design and is easy to disassemble and clean. I have been making stovetop espresso in pots like this for 15+ years and this is one of the most satisfactory pots I have had. A good value.

For whatever reason it just didn't work. Odd as there are minimal parts, and I checked for obvious clogs, etc. and there did not appear to be any. Perhaps it was the over pressure valve, etc.

I went with another option instead, and wouldn't recommend this product, as I had to pay shipping 2x (initial and return) and it isn't worth rolling the dice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Makes great espresso, but..., October 31, 2007
By
Katydid (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
The Bialetti espresso maker came on time, in its original Bialetti packaging and with all of the parts unbroken and without any dents or scratches.

I love the look and style of this espresso maker. I have only used it a few times now and the biggest disappointment has been that it doesn't seal properly. Steam comes out of the sides while the water is heating no matter how tightly you close it. Even my husband couldn't get it closed well enough. Maybe it will take some time on this...

The other small disappointment was that I thought it would make more espresso. I was hoping this could function as our coffee-maker (we like it really strong!) so it would have to make enough for two cups of coffee. It looks so large, but the looks are deceiving. While it does make just barely enough for the two of us, if we ever had guests, I would need to wait for it to cool and then make more or buy another one!

Overall it makes yummy coffee and it looks super-cool, but if I had to do it over again, I would have bought the biggest one they make.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stainless espresso maker, January 12, 2008
By
We bought this for our Mom for Christmas. It was difficult to find a stainless steel espresso maker at retail stores, they were all aluminum. The design, looks and functionality are what we were hoping to find. The price was fantastic and our Mom is very pleased with it. She frequently uses it with her girlfriends so the 6 cup capacity is just what she was looking for. We like it so much we want one too. Great product, great price!

1.0 out of 5 stars never had a seal, September 15, 2007
I got this as a present. I had used other cheaper modules of the same brand so I was very excited but the threads never matched up and it didnt seal enough to produce anything remotley like coffee let alone espresso. I was very disappointed that this one was so cheaply made that when I called the manufactures they said that becouse I had used it they wouldnt give me another one. I have had success with this manufacture in the past but beware they are hard to get a hold of and not very nice with there customer service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what it is supposed to be, November 22, 2008

I appreciate a purchase that is exactly what it claims to be, and that is what the Bialetti Venus is. I understand that some connoisseurs dislike the coffee produced by stainless steel, but comparing coffee that comes out of this with that from an aluminum Bialetti, I find the Venus produces a less brash cuppa. It seems sturdy and I don't foresee replacing it for a very long time. Moreover, it looks great and brews fast. The best coffee-making tool I have owned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price Great Espresso Coffee, October 18, 2006
This review is from: Bialetti Venus, 6 Cup (Kitchen)
No need to spend hundreds of dollars (OK, may be even thousands if you are a New Yorker!) for a complex and bulky espresso machine. This little stovetop "machine" stands up to the best espresso I have brewed and tasted worldwide. Just make sure to use very good coffee, very fine grind, and pack it in just right. Best buy, no questions asked. Get your self a frother for under 20 bucks and you got great capuccinos every morning. This is espresso made the old fashioned way!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly made, expensive for such inadequate quality., December 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bialetti Venus, 6 Cup (Kitchen)
This product is product is extremely overprice for such poor quality. The performance of this coffee maker is abysmal.

The big issue is that wont seal properly even after applying good amount of force, about 30% the water gets release on joints instead of going up.

I saw a bialleti made of aluminum original from Italy and they look at least 5 times better quality that this one that is made on India, just look the difference on the plastics, the finishing and side valve.

Now I have to buy another coffee maker of this because does not work, and I'm unable to return this because a bought this from a amazon third party seller.

Go a buy the aluminium version .. not this.

1.0 out of 5 stars BIALETTI MUSA EXPRESSO POT: Threads are off set: POOR quality, January 1, 2010
This review is from: Bialetti Venus, 6 Cup (Kitchen)
You can tell this unit came off of a speedy assembly line. Cheap plastic handle which is held by a single screw that continually needs to be tightened & the machine threads of the two sections of the pot are offset so the coffee pot sits at angle & does not seal. From reading past posts I can see that about 60% of the units have this problem. Complete waste of money.
