Those go through the main company.

We bought this set at Costco about 8 years. They carry a lifetime warranty -- or so we thought. When two of the fry pans starting having Teflon flaking problems (not uncommon even with high end cookware), I figured OK I'll just send them back. When I contacted Bialetti USA, they said nope, we don't handle warranties for items bought from Costco. Those go through the main company. In Italy. OK, so I contacted Bialetti Italy. It took me 3 tries before I finally received a response (with the assistance of Bialetti USA). The response was sort of like what warranty are you talking about?

So I sent a scanned copy of the warranty (clearly stating lifetime) along with photos of the pans showing the Teflon coming off. Another two weeks went by -- no reply. So I sent another email. Oh that's being handled by xyz person. OK so I resent everything.

Finally after 2 more times back and forth, Bialetti Italy promised to send replacement pans. A month went by -- no pans. Contacted them again. Oooh so sorry we'll send your pans out right away. Another month went by. No pans.

Finally, I went back to Costco and explained the situation. The manager there was awesome. Even though under no obligation to do so, Costco refunded our original purchase price for the whole set. I bought a brand new Kirkland set as a replacement.

Note that the Bialetti cookware is actually well made and performs well. The handles are great with silicone inserts and they distribute the heat evenly over the food. The lids are also interchangeable with all the fry pans which is a very cool feature. But if they start breaking down, don't expect to see any response out of Bialetti.

Oh yeah, and it's been 3 months since my last communication with Bialetti Italy. No pans.

Pitiful excuse for pots and pans! I actually looked under "recalls" as I cannot imagine how many people have had problems with these slippery bottoms. I do not have any small children and I worry all the time that these pans are going to end up on the floor.
Not only that but don't let those silicon inserts fool you but I have burned my fingers as they get extremely HOT because the metal isn't covered. I have to use potholders to lift lids or adjust the pan with the handles. I should go back to cooking on a campfire!
Again let me say that these should be under a recall as they will slip right off the stove! Oh and talking about balance, ha! Unless there's food in the pots or skillets..they turned over! The handles are heavier than the pots
itself.
I am equally aggravated with myself for not taking the darn things back. I bought them at Costco and after reading another review on here about how bad the company is I felt a need to also tell everyone that I have safety concerns as I am sure you would too.
I haven't had any problem with the peeling teflon..the problems I am talking about are pure SAFETY and that's enough. I bought another set and brand altogether..stainless with aluminum clad bottoms heavy pans and they do not slip around the stove like they're skating on ice. They stand up alone and lids nor handles get hot! These I purchased at Costco as well...I should try my best to scout out the old receipt and see if I can get lucky as the other reviewer here by Sven Golly on July 13, 2013

Great set of what should be "High End" pots & pans. I bought these much cheaper than I could have got them in the store for, and saved about $90.00.

These are actually well crafted pots/pans with lots of nice feature (that's why I bought them), but, after a while, I could see black particles coming off when I wiped the Teflon coating. Even though I was only heating it to a max of medium heat, later, the coating began to turn brown. Finally, I started to smell a slight burnt plastic smell when cooking gravies (and we all actually got a little sick).

I just don't think these are safe for human consumption, no matter to what temp you heat them. The safety guidelines for non-stick include NOT pre-heating an empty pan (even with oil in it)...which means no quick searing. Sorry, I'm not putting food in a cold pan...that's not cooking.

There may be safe, non-toxic, non-stick coatings available...but this is not one. A company just stating their coating is "safe" is in their immediate best interest, not the consumers long term interest. I don't want to be a guinea pig, so it's stainless steel and cast iron from now on (I'll minimize the clean up, somehow).
