Have been concerned about the many reports about dangers with most coated cookware. Have now purchased the 10" and 12" Bialetti pans (in two different orders, 3-4 weeks apart), and am very happy with both. I have followed the manufacturer's directions explicitly, and cannot understand how anyone could have had some of the problems reported except that they got lemons. I use medium heat (not even as low as they recommend), only wood or coated utensils, and wash the pans with Dobie pads. I have used the pans every morning for bacon and eggs (turkey and organic, of course!!), and have also stir-fried veggies and chicken. I think I might have used oil once in the pans to cook something, but usually the natural juices or oils in whatever I'm cooking is adequate. They look and function exactly as the day they arrived. The only thing I would add is that the surface seems very sensitive to minor scratching, which I can't quite figure out if it is literally from bumping up against other dishes in the drainer or by other pans while in storage (no room to hang them). And, of course it is a little mentally straining to have to be so careful with the cookware, but being a thoughtful citizen in our universe requires attention, and I knew that in buying these products. Recommend highly for everyday cooking where you don't need high or searing heat - cast iron or stainless always best for that.

This was a gift for my sister and I bought becuase I received one for a wedding present and it is the best large non-stick pan I have ever used. It is very durable, and if treated nicely (not using metal products in it) seems like it will last forever!
