5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for my Ikea Trivsel, December 29, 2011

This review is from: Bialetti Stainless Steel Replacement gasket & Filter for 6 cup Espresso Makers. (Kitchen)
So, I trundle off to Ikea to replace the gasket in my Trivsel moka pot only to discover that in the year I have owned it they no longer sell the pot or replacement parts (this is from sales associate in the store in PDX). Bummer. What to do? I thought I would have to purchase a new stainless steel moka pot just to replace a worn out gasket-the horror! Happily, while googling possible replacements, I was led to an Amazon review that mentioned these lovely Bialetti gaskets and their compatibility with my Trivsel. True thing. Perfect fit. Item shipped quickly, works like a charm, and I am back in business. If you don't need the stainless filter you can purchase the gaskets separately.

I purchased this to replace the gasket and filter for an IKEA Trivsel 6-cup espresso maker. It fits perfectly. The gasket is thicker than the original IKEA one, so there is a small gap between the top and bottom parts - however it forms a perfect seal.

Comes with 1 stainless steel filter, and 3 replacement gaskets.

We got this gasket to replace the aluminum one that came with our expresso maker. It works well, washes up nicely, and we have had no problems with leaking etc. Highly recommend it.

For anyone else who has an 7.5" tall Guido Bergna (GB) 4-cup stainless stovetop espresso pot (boiler water capacity = 1 1/3 cup to bottom of pressure release valve), these Bialetti 6-cup gaskets appear to fit. The screen size is identical to my original.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb deal for the stove top Macchiato, November 9, 2010

This review is from: Bialetti Stainless Steel Replacement gasket & Filter for 6 cup Espresso Makers. (Kitchen)
Of course the great question is how do you know that you need a new gasket and then why do you need the filter? Well that's rather easy, instead of all the espresso grounds staying in their stainless cup, they also adhere to the filter above and cover that with espresso. If you are having that problem, and have to wash the insides out inside of just tapping it onto a paper towel, then it's time to change the gasket.

This is the only set of gaskets that I found that also came with the stainless steel filter. I didn't need the filter but after having a lot of these over the years -- we used to be electric but they fail within a year and half -- I can tell you that the gasket from repeated temperature changes will fail as well.

It's a piece of cake to replace the gasket. Just open the Macchiato as if you were putting in new coffee and instead wash the top part so you can see the gasket. Pop it out with a butter knife and then push the new one down. Follow the instructions on the back and then make your espresso. Voila you are done. Great set. Highly recommended.
