1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY - THE SOFTWARE WILL NOT FUNCTION August 21, 2012
The manufacturer of this software has gone out of business and shut down their authentication servers. You will, therefore, be unable to electronically authenticate this product. Without authentication, the software won't function at all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Licensing problems, product past it's prime March 3, 2012
This used to be my favorite audio editing software. It is a good product buy overpriced. There are plenty of Free programs such as audacity and pay programs such as AmadeusPro which provide just as many features for someone that needs to do any editing of digital audio files. The main problem I have with Bias is they have very strict licensing codes. There are limits as to how often you can reload the program in the advent of moving to another computer, system upgrade issues, crashes. Basically they tend to get you in an upgrade cycle and the upgrades or cross grades can cause problems with licensing codes. Even if you have a backup process set up on your computer, the files they place on your computer for identification purposes doesn't always work. I had needed customer support to obtain a new license code two times, which they send via email. The last time I needed to authorize the software, the codes they provided in the email were no longer valid. After spending around 500 dollars over the course of the years, I decided I rented the software long enough and went with something I can purchase once and own. Bias also caters to the high end professional, selling expensive software along with it's consumer software. Unfortunately they use the same $$ protection. It is less common with Macintosh software to find strict licensing barriers that you find on the Windows platform. I am sure it has to do with market share. To offer a balance in my review, when I compare features with copyright barriers, software such as AmadeusPro offers much more for half the price and the headaches of hidden copy protected files if you ever need to restore.
