Bibi Black not only has a gorgeous trumpet sound -- some have described it as STRONGLY FEMININE -- she seems to possess a unique insight into the composer's intentions & vision for the soloist (especially on the Haydn). Well worth exploring...
Plus, it would indeed be decidedly unjust to neglect pointing out that she happens to be a hottie.
When someone looks like that, picks up a trumpet & proves that she ABSOLUTELY MEANS what she plays, she has my vote. Sexist? DEFINITELY & with my apologies (although I knew her excellent work as a trumpeter long before ever actually getting a good look at Ms. Black)...
