Substantive and Captivating
BIBLE CODES: myth, mystery, maybe, meaningful? Which are they? And what do modern day individuals, such as Hitler, Rabin, Einstein, Clinton, Brokaw, bin Laden and Hussein, plus current countries Iran, North Korea, Iraq, Libya, and Russia have to do with Bible Codes? Ed Sherman, mathematician with 30 years of experience in probability, statistical analyses, and consulting with Fortune 500 companies, undertakes this daunting task of answering those questions in his book, 'Bible Code Bombshell', after six years of scientific research on this topic. This is a substantive book on an intriguing and highly controversial subject. The skeptic, curious, and serious students on this topic should have their interest piqued with the thoroughness, reliability, and credibility of the author's research, documentation, presentation, and unequivocal conclusions. Although the author is a mathematician, he has wisely relegated the math to appendices at the end, making it an easy-to-read book. It addresses the most commonly asked questions about Bible codes on the basis of five years of intensive scientific research. The research team includes a Jewish agnostic, who is a retired professor of mathematics and physics and a part time Hebrew teacher. The process of systematically extracting encoded messages has produced a wealth of reliable results that have withstood the test of rigorous scientific analyses, including a companion search in the Hebrew text of 'War and Peace', as a control for comparison. What adds credibility to these claims is that some of these ELSs are quite lengthy, and much of the related information appears tightly packed together as in a crossword puzzle, sometimes appearing as a cross. The longer the string (encoded message), the less likely it is coincidental. Therefore, the conclusion is that many of these messages were intentionally coded. But, what do Jews think of the encoding of Jesus in the Old Testament as the long awaited Messiah? Then, how about the fascinating discoveries relevant to 9/11, as you catch the sense of excitement in the quest for any codes surrounding that event; and they are there! Yes, there are limitations; codes are not time dated, who is speaking to whom, what viewpoint is being expressed, what do some of the messages mean; but, then again, any inquisitive reader will want to investigate the merit of the claims of this book. I did and was not disappointed.

best Book on Bible Codes!!!!!!!!!!,
By
This review is from: Bible Code Bombshell (Paperback)
Bible Code bombshell: Compelling Evidence That GOD Authored The Bible by R. Edwin Sherman is the single best book on Bible codes, by a long shot. It is a sober, scientific, and statistical look at Bible Codes. Sherman makes NO attempt to be sensational, except in reporting the facts. NOW the facts themselves are sensational (this is mathematical proof of the existence of God that is far beyond a reasonable doubt). In the world of Bible codes, some bad unscientific work has gotten out there and has brought much disrepute on to Bible codes, and that is truly terrible. Hear Sherman takes on those bad works dividing between what they got right and what they got wrong and also takes on the critics of Bible codes as well. Sherman goes on to shows some amazing clusters of Long BIBLE CODES that defy being accidental. This is a Great book for anyone interested in Bible codes, for anyone who has dismissed Bible codes and even for anyone, it might very well lead many to find God.

Don't be a flat earther....,
By Codes04 (Fort Collins, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bible Code Bombshell (Paperback)
Did you know that the Bible codes are one of the most controversial areas of scientific research? The reason why may be surprising to you; and Bible Code Bombshell addresses behind-the-scene motivations for the shrill language on the part of detractors. In reality, what matters most is whether the current level of code findings are statistically significant. This book provides tangible, repeatable, and incredibly long code findings made up of sentences. I recommend this book as a must-have book for anyone interested in the Bible codes.
Bible code critics DID have a point concerning books from 5-10 years ago, which provided simplistic codes with terms made up of single words. That simplistic level of code findings is repeatable in lengthy texts in any language. Bible Code Bombshell dispels the critics' arguments (which also include pastors and rabbis who promote a limited view of God and the Bible) by showing ELS terms that are phrases and sentences. These findings are statistically significant; but that level of significance is only half the equation. Significant Bible code findings must also make sense. Bible Code Bombshell provides findings that satisfy both the significance test and common sense test. The skeptics/critics have now been largely disproven, based on this new level of code findings. However, it is unfortunate that many people have listened to the outmoded findings of the last century, and have based their opinions of the Bible code on false arguments that are widely bandied about. For that reason alone, Bible Code Bombshell deserves a read by anyone seriously inquiring into the Bible code itself. Don't be a "flat earther", find out how fast and far the Bible codes have traveled down the path of serious inquiry. One can still find an abundance of websites on the internet where beginner-level codes researchers are still doing simplistic matrices with single-word terms. I would never discourage these enthusiastic beginner-level codes researchers, since all matrix development starts that way. Yet, the casual reader ought to be wary of websites making fantastic claims; but whose matrices are comprised of single-word terms. The fact is that their matrices just aren't well-developed enough to know whether what they have found is statistically significant or randomness. If randomness, then of course their claims are invalid until the matrix is further developed enough to know whether it corroborates or disproves their earlier claims. This new expanded version of Bible Code Bombshell by New Leaf Press includes a new chapter with 300 codes on Jesus. It is an area of inquiry not investigated by many codes researchers who are Orthodox Jews. Of course we can all understand that, since Orthodox Jews do not accept Jesus as Messiah as do Christians. I say this not to criticize Jewish code researchers, since they are entitled to not investigate areas which they theologically oppose. For Christians, you will find that these lengthy codes on Jesus will answer your questions on whether his life is in the codes. After all, if he was the Messiah, then he would certainly be there prominently in the codes. The value of Bible Code Bombshell is that it provides the mathematical underpinnings for one to judge validity of the codes (mainly in the appendices), and at the same time addresses common sense issues like, 'does the long term make sense?' After reading this book the reader will have the tools necessary to accurately judge between significant and insignificant codes; and the reader will not be taken in by the shamefully biased arguments of many of the skeptics. The book does this in a highly readable and entertaining manner. Buy the book.

MOVE OVER DAN BROWN; THE BIG DOG'S IN TOWN!,
By STEPHEN T. McCARTHY (a Mensa-donkey in Phoenix, Airheadzona.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bible Code Bombshell (Paperback)
As of this date, I have posted on Amazon, 74 Reviews, 24 "So You'd Like To..." Guides, and 18 Listmania Lists. Now let's imagine, just for the sake of argument, that in reading through my Amazon "stuff" you happened to notice that the word "dog" appeared in one form or another in virtually everything I'd posted - all 74 Reviews, all 24 Guides, and all 18 Lists. Would you accept that this might have occurred by SIMPLE CHANCE? Or would you be convinced that it was indicative of a deliberate design?
If you answered "possibly SIMPLE CHANCE", then there is a strong "CHANCE" that you, my dear friend, are rather "SIMPLE" in mind...not that there's anything wrong with that. But I have some marvelous business opportunities I'd like to discuss with you! Well, the hidden equidistant letter sequence (E.L.S.) codes that are illuminated in 'BIBLE CODE BOMBSHELL' are astronomically more indicative of intelligent design than even the ubiquitous "dog" hypothesis I fabricated above. For example : Isaiah, chapter 53, from the Bible's Old Testament (documented to have existed at least 100 years before the birth of Christ, and more likely about 700 years prior) is a prophecy concerned with the coming of a Suffering Servant who would atone for the sins of mankind. Cloaked within that chapter at equidistant letter sequences are over 1,600 encoded references to Jesus, etc. Included are phrases such as "HE OFFENDED. THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS. HE IS RISEN INDEED." / "AND IN HIS NAME, AS HE COMMANDED, JESUS IS THE WAY." / "AND WHERE ARE THEY? THE SANHEDRIN IS FINISHED." / "FATHER, THE ASCENSION OF JESUS IS HEAVENLY." / "GOD WILL HAVE HIS OWN DAY." / "JESUS THE GIFT IS MASTER AND MY LORD." / "WONDER! JESUS IS THE TRUTH." / "JESUS IS SALVATION." / "MARY IS THE MOTHER OF GOD." / "DREADFUL DAY FOR MARY" / "SON OF ELOHIM." / "TRUE MESSIAH." / "WHO IS JESUS? MASTER." R. Edwin Sherman, an acknowledged expert in statistical analysis has determined that the odds of these references, and the many others, appearing by chance beneath the plain text of Isaiah 53, are less than 1 in 2,189 followed by 192 zeroes. Meaning : There's effectively NO CHANCE! On page 78, the author concludes, "What has been mathematically proven is this : it is an established fact that the author of Isaiah 53 knew at least a century in advance the key details of the life and death of Jesus. In other words, the occurrence of this miracle has been scientifically established." And that does not even begin to factor in all of the encoded phrases found in Ezekiel 37, and other Biblical passages. (And you thought Dan Brown's silly 'DA VINCI CODE' was good stuff?) There's still much to learn, but in the "dog-eat-dog" Bible Code debate, R. Edwin Sherman has "unleashed" the "pit bull" of Bible Code publications to date. He answers the skeptics' arguments and shows conclusively that at least some portions of The Bible were encoded by a prescient Superintelligence. Yes, the code exists - that's not the question now. The question has become : Will it affect how you live your life in any appreciable way? 2005, DECEMBER 10th ADDENDUM: I find that one reviewer has panned this book by casting aspersions on the author's facility with the Hebrew language. He writes, "It should be mandatory for an author of Bible codes to be able to at least read Hebrew but unfortunately it is not." Since R. Edwin Sherman is not a Hebrew expert, he collaborates with one. As 'BIBLE CODE BOMBSHELL' clearly states, all of Sherman's research is closely examined by Holocaust survivor, Nathan Jacobi, Ph.D. Jacobi (an agnostic) received a Ph.D. in physics from Weizman Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. He received an M.Sc. in physics and a B.Sc. in mathematics from Bar-Illan University in Ramat-Gan, Israel. He is a retired college professor with more than 30 years of research, development and scientific computing in applied physics, aerospace and geophysics. He has taught atomic and molecular physics, quantum mechanics, college algebra, trigonometry and analysis, analytic geometry, and calculus - in Israel and the U.S. Jacobi received a thorough education in both Biblical and contemporary Hebrew. He reads the news daily in Hebrew, converses with his wife in Hebrew, and has taught Hebrew for several years. There are people who hate the Truth; that's their prerogative as free individuals, but it should be mandatory for a reviewer of a book to have at least read the book he reviews. And YOU can quote ME on that!

Bible Codes... Something to Think About,
By KOC "StarWatcher" (Arizona) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bible Code Bombshell (Paperback)
Bible Codes, a subect for the open minded, have fast become a subject of controversy to some and hope to others. Since my introduction to the codes I have bought programs, books, and haunted the net for more info and opinions plus learning some basic Hebrew, all because I am truly fascinated! Much is said about skeptics becoming believers including the authors of Bible Code Bombshell. This book puts forth over 300 codes referencing the life of Jesus and would have you believe that God did indeed write the Hebrew Bible. Even if you remain skeptical about that, the book could go a long way in convincing you that "something" extraterrestrial or otherwise, knew a lot about our history that had yet to happen. If you are a person who needs statistics for assurance, you will find them here. Any way you look at it, it is a fascinating subject and the book gives you a lot to consider regardless of your religious or philosophical bent. I suggest you read it with an open mind.

The Death Knell of Positivism?,

This review is from: Bible Code Bombshell (Paperback)
This book is not a "literary" masterpiece, but it is a masterful presentation of the mathematics behind the so-called "Bible codes"--often complex, improbable phrases found by computers that skip "equidistant letter sequences" (ELS)in a variety of Hebrew texts from the Old Testament canon. Most of the author's research has been done on the Pentateuch, Ezekial, and Isaiah, but also includes an analysis of codes found in the Psalms and Proverbs. The results are simply astonishing, and the author does a good job of explaining the statistical probabilities that these phrases--often quite relevant to the surface text--could have occurred by mere chance. If these complex, meaningful codes are real, it is difficult to explain how they could have occurred in the texts, some of which have been handed down from antiquity with very few transcriptional errors--as demonstrated by texts found among the Dead Sea scrolls in comparison with much later Hebrew transcriptions. I believe that Sherman's data offers a very serious challenge to atheistic positivism, the modern philosophical assumption that there is nothing "Supernatural" about observable phenomena. I seriously doubt, however, that most positivists will be able to look at this data objectively. They will begin with the assumption that it is religious nonsense, and will not accurately perceive the phenomenon.

Bible Code Bombshell BIBLE CODE BOMBSHELL corresponds the last word of its name. Amazing and convincing scholarship about the trustworthyness of the Bible! The book encouraged me and strengthened my faith. I have studied statistics, so I was able understand. Nevertheless, I had to take my time. On the other hand, I wonder how many of the ordinary people can understand what is said in the book? Well, they can pick up many other good books that are convincing enough.

R. Edwin Sherman's "Bible Code Bombshell" intrigued me. So, I grabbed this book and scanned the table of contents. I jumped right to chapter 4: Using the Isaiah 53 Cluster to Answer Code Skeptics. Big mistake. This book is not fluff, and must be read in sequence if you are not familiar with these concepts already. So, I recommend starting at the beginning to gain a full foundation of the concepts of this form of analysis.
Sherman is the founder of the Isaac Newton Bible Code Research Society [...]). He presents an in-depth (yet I'm sure this book only scratches the surface) analysis of several sources, Biblical and secular. This book is a very heady read, and it's going to take me some time to digest.
