Please Read Before You Order!!!,
This review is from: The Open Bible Completely Revised And Now Featuring 4,500 New Study Notes (Leather Bound)
I recently purchased the "Open Bible". I am very pleased with the service I received from Good Stewards!! Although I would strongly suggest that you choose the Rush Delivery. Regular delivery is not trackable. Amazon.com deliver's it if you choose regular mail. Good Stewards recently gave me wonderful service and very helpful and very polite!! I do strongly recommend this bible to anyone Especially a 1st time Christian!! It has great references for reading the bible in different ways. It has good references throughout the bible on different topics. If you are reading a certain scripture and you would like to know more about that topic. It might have a reference to another scripture. In the middle of the Bible it has a Visual Survey of the Bible!! This was really cool. It has some Archaeological Discoveries in the back of the bible as well as a Biblical Cyclopedic Index. It also has and Index to Visual Bible Study Aids. Sometimes things do happen in our lives but, when you are in contact with a good Christian Book place like "Good Steward Books" you are IN GOOD HANDS!!! God Bless You! Janine Petty

Good....BUT,

I now own 21 study Bibles. This Bible seems to be the most well organized with easy to look up subject areas owing to the Cyclopedic Index and the Christian's Guide to the New Life. Also, I really like the verse format over the paragraph format used in the new Nelson Study Bible. It allows one to isolate the verse and focus on it much easier than the paragraph format (after all these are STUDY Bibles). However, I feel for the price I paid it is lacking in physical quality. The paper is of poor quality especially when compared to other manufacturers of other study Bibles selling at lower prices. Even the unorganized new Nelson Study Bible has better paper quality. Second, the finishing of the inside of front and back cover was of inferior quality when compared to other study bibles of similar or lower price. If the word studies were updated to include all those in the Nelson Study Bible and/or those in the Spirit-Filled Life Bible and the paper qualities/notes of the Nelson Study Bible were combined with the indexing and verse format of the Open Bible then Nelson would have one demon-butt-kicking Bible. In fact, if anyone would take the time to put the articles and charts at the end of the Bible and the Index/Dictionary in front of the Bible and have the notes/doctrinal statements at the bottom of the page in an easy to read font for easy reading reference, then the Study Bible of all Study Bibles would be created. Why Nelson ever dropped the Cyclopedic Index and the Christian's Guide is simply mind boggling.

The best and most practical of all study Bibles,
By
This review is from: The Open Bible Completely Revised And Now Featuring 4,500 New Study Notes (Leather Bound)
This study Bible is great because it has so much practical information that is so easy to acess. The visual aid charts between the testaments are very useful. And the cyclopedic index is very helpful for understanding a word, theme, Bible character, or even a geographical name. Also, the cyclopedic index is very useful as a concordance as well. I'm astonished that evidentally, at least the KJV and NKJV versions of this EXCELLENT study tool are no longer available.
Also, the print in this latest edition (NKJV-1997) is larger and much easier to see. I could only wish that this great study Bible had central reference columns rather than just at the end of each verse. But that is a very minor weakness compared to the superlative aids in this Bible. I must also say that the book introductions are very informative and helpful. Again, a really great and helpful study tool, for young and older believers alike.

I've had this Bible for a while, but I no longer use it. The notes are not that informative. There's not much information in this Bible. I find it to be lacking in many areas. This is my personal reaction. When I first received it, I thought it was a nice Bible, but upon serious study, I changed my mind.

The ForEver Changing Book of All History,
By
This review is from: The Open Bible Completely Revised And Now Featuring 4,500 New Study Notes (Leather Bound)
This version of the Bible does not only correct grammatical and punctuation errors, but it also places its own interpretation upon many words. For example the original word in the KJV was "black" in Solomon 1-5, they changed it to "dark" and state that it means suntanned. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE WORD TO DISCRIBE A BLACK PERSON CAN BE SUNTAN INSTEAD OF BLACK? King James used the best word there and it was Black. Likewise in the book of the Songs of Solomon 5:11 the Bible states that "Solomon was bushy headed", but this book changes the word "bushy", to wavy. There is no way to confuse a bushy headed person with a wavey headed person. There are so many verses, which have been left to show that the blackness of the Bible that I felt obligated to share that there are many other changes taking place contantly it is up to you to decide if it makes no difference whether you get truth or not.

Not God Inspired,

The Book of Songs of Solomon Chapter 1 verse 5 is suppose to read as follows. I am Black and comly, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of ken-dar, as the curtains of Solomon. Chapter 5 verse 11 reads as follows, His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy. This Bible reads Chapter 1 verse 5 reads as follows. I am dark but lovely, O daughters of Jerusalem, Like the tents of Ke'dar, like the curtian of Solomon. chapter 5 verse 11 reads.. His head is like the finest gold, His locks are wavey, and as black as a raven. Until the Gentile could come though the isle of Javon there was no white race. Science has proved that all races come from the Black race. The bible should be a book of truths not lies.
