Book Description

1995
Written over a three year period, this book covers biblical measurements and monetary systems referred to in both the Old and New Testaments. It does this in painstaking detail, discussing in great depth such subjects as varied as the construction of Noah's ark to the reconstruction of Solomon's temple. Measurements are converted from the Hebrew to the modern Metric system. Likewise, monetary systems were converted to the present day monetary system with a base line using the gold and silver values of 1995. Also included are explanations of how these measurements were actually used in making these items. Last but not least, the author has an exposition of each book of the Bible so that young and old can understand the Bible more clearly. This is, in its quiet and patient way, a milestone book and a valuable reference for any theological library.

About the Author

Ernest Schlegel was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joined the Navy during WW II and spent a 2-1/2 year hitch repairing all types of Naval aircraft, then spent a four-year apprenticeship in Tool and Die making. Then, when he attended Lafayette College, he took both a religion course as well as a course in Mechanical Engineering. His work background as a supervisor in his employer's Tooling Department as well as in the Production Laboratory gave him a solid metallurgical background. He also taught for 14 years in a Tool and Die program, both in industry and at a Vocational-Technical school. Raised in a Christian home as a child he has attended church throughout his life, and in the process learned a great deal about the Bible. His life-long beliefs and a lifetime of accumulated technical skills combine in this two volume work
