NIV version; Experiencing God study bible, June 1, 2000
This review is from: Bible Niv Exp God Study Blue (Paperback)
I have unsuccessfully been serching for a bible with a Weslyian perspective for about two years. Prior, the Weslyan study bible had been discontinued and i couldnt find anyone with an out of print version. Then came experiencing God study bible. It's fantastic, it's full of great study notes with Weslyan notes throughout; just what i have been looking for. This bible will not dissappoint the casual reader and the serious bible student. I highly recommend it to everyone. It was worth the wait!

What a Way to Experience God!, February 1, 2007
This review is from: Bible Niv Exp God Study Blue (Paperback)
I bought "The Experiencing God Study Bible" on a lark from a local Christian book store that was shutting down and had everything on deep discounts. Let me be one of the first to tell you, that if I had known it was going to be this good, I would have paid full price. I am not exaggerating. I went back and got the other two versions. There are at least three - the New King James, the original King James, and the New International version.
The book is large, with very wide margins for note taking. The text is easy on the eyes, and print quality is excellent. It has some of the usual features for good Bibles, such as a family records section, general concordance, simple index, small atlas section, and other items found in many other Bibles.
But it is in what this Bible provides that others do not where this version shines. Every page of scriptures has a general focus statement for that page (example: God Focus: Faith), every page of scripture has a section on how to use verses on that page to "Prepare to Meet God", every page of scripture has a section on "Did You Notice?", all of which provide literally thousands of ways to use your Bible as a study tool. There are also many pages dealing with specific characters from the Bible. There is also a page after each book that lets you jot down your own thoughts on methods of experiencing God.
There are also a number of icons, similar to computer icons, that mark special verses to read for things like "Love & Relationships," "God Speaks," "Spiritual Awakening" and others. There are fifteen of these icons altogether, and a special index in the back to locations for where they all appear. Also in the back is a section that talks in depth about each of the icon topics.
I have never seen a Bible that lends itself better to both individual and group Bible Study than this one. It's a real shame that it seems to be out-of-print. I cannot stress enough that if you really want to truly Experience God, there is no better Bible to do it with that I have found, and that is very high praise from me indeed. My very highest recommendation. Easily worth far more than the usual five stars.

If you don't know where to begin, begin with this Bible., July 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Bible Niv Exp God Study Blue (Paperback)
There are boxes at the top and bottom of each page that contain questions. Each question references the verse where you can find the answer. I start out reading one verse, then get hooked on the questions and end up reading for hours. It makes Bible study easy and relevant and fun. And the New International Version is written in everyday language. If you're a Bible scholar, you'll find new insights here. If you've never read the Bible, there are guidelines for where to begin, what to read first.
