5.0 out of 5 stars easy on the eyes
The print is not giant, but it is large. Type is easy on the eyes and the red lettering is not too bright. I have looked at some where the red lettering was neon red. Nice carry around size- the size of a pew bible.

1.0 out of 5 stars Giant print Bible NKJV version
I was very disappointed in this book. It was advertised as Giant print and to me it was only a regular print that you would expect in a standard Bible. The text was so close together, that it made it additionally hard to read. Notes were realy small. The paper had no body to it and was so thin one would have to constantly moisten his fingers to separate the pages...

I purchased 50 of these Bibles as pew and gift Bibles for our church. I have ordered the less expensive pew Bibles before with print so small you can't read it and bindings that come apart after 6 months. These Bibles retail for $15, but Amazon sells them for about $10 (a 33% discount). As one review stated, the print is not what you might expect as "giant", but considering your alternatives, the font size is definitely large and comfortable for most to read. I am very satisfied with these Bibles, and would give strong my strong recommendation in favor of them.

This is a great buy for a personal reading Bible without any outside commentary or study helps besides a concordance. The print is large enough for someone (like me) with eye trouble, although it is not huge. This Bible would make a great pew Bible.
The New King James Version is an outstanding choice for someone who believes in a literal translation. Except for the book of Revelation, the text it is based on is highly reliable as well. The text used for Revelation is probably corrupt, a fact known to most Bible scholars; the NASB is a more reliable source for that book.
I have several NKJV Bibles with all the reference notes, etc. But this one has become my choice for personal reading due to its highly legible print.

1.0 out of 5 stars Giant print Bible NKJV version, March 9, 2011

I was very disappointed in this book. It was advertised as Giant print and to me it was only a regular print that you would expect in a standard Bible. The text was so close together, that it made it additionally hard to read. Notes were realy small. The paper had no body to it and was so thin one would have to constantly moisten his fingers to separate the pages. The references were there, and the red letters of Jesus' words were there. I ordered this because my eyesight is not good, and Giant print is what I need, not a lot of letters crowded together in a small print. Perhaps if I had ordered a more expensive book, it would have been satisfactory, but I don't think I can trust the description of type size.

3.0 out of 5 stars It could have been a better NKJV Bible, October 26, 2010

I wanted a black, soft leather cover with Holy Bible written in gold letters, with words of Jesus in red. I bought this Bible from amazon.com instead. It has a hard cover. I thought I might like the NKJV over the KJV, but I do not.

When I open the Bible I can see the text from the other side of the page; and because of this, I think the line spacing is too tight. One source of dissatisfaction causes the perception of another source of dissatisfaction. The line spacing may not be too tight but with the bleed through, the eye is drawn to the line spacing. I see letters and phrases come through from the underside. For example, if there is a space between words or spaces where the line of text isn't a full line of text, one sees text from the underside of the page.

The font and font size are beautiful! This excellence however is wasted on a background of bleed-through.

I have a question about the first map. I do not believe the Egyptian capital was at Tanis when Abraham visited Egypt. Maybe he visited a king of the 15th or 16th Dynasty and never met a Theban pharaoh? Without having gone farther south than Tanis, Abraham would not have seen the pyramids of Giza. I look forward to your answers and comments.

P.S.: In my book, I pick up the history of the Hebrews in Egypt with Jacob-Israel. Israel and his son Joseph would have seen more of Egypt than Abraham.

It gets the job done. Its a hard cover. Type is more like medium size, not really Giant like it says. But its a good Bible to gift or for personal use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointed, September 22, 2010

I was slightly disappointed in this product as I had been searching for a nice bible (NKJV) for a while. I like the content and had seen what I thought was a very similar bible (by Charles Nelson) at church. I thought the cover/binding would be nicer than it is but, for the price, it is acceptable. I just thought I was getting something nicer than it ended up being. Of course the content along with the "Giant Print" was what I had seen previously so I was satisfied with the content. I guess I am judging a book by it's cover - but I was searching for one with a nice(r) cover.

It was just what I needed. The print was almost large enough to not even need my reading glasses. But, I don't recommend that.
