Superb interpretation of the Book of Revelation. Although fictionalized, the events as depicted in the bible are brought so much to life you experience fear for what is to come but at the same time, inspire hope for everlasting life. It leads to a spiritual reawakening.

LaHaye is a very good author, Biblically sound, yet I did not know that this was just a pamphlet. Therefore I did not think this was a good value. You would expect this to be part of a more comprehensive book on Bible prophecy.

LaHaye misses the major issue of the coming of Christ.,

The issue of the coming of Christ is not whether there is a rapture and when it occurs. The issue is that we must be ready for the coming of Christ based upon the Word of God. Jesus said it will be his word that will judge us in that day. We see in scripture that those who escape the tribulation are faithful to God during the negligence period prior to the coming of the antichrist when Christ comes as a thief in the night.
Dr. LaHaye teaches a pre-tribulation resurrection, which states that the dead in Christ shall arise with the shout of the archangel and the trump of God. Jesus taught the resurrection is the last day and after the tribulation, as did the Apostle Paul. So the event that LaHaye refers to is not the rapture but the resurrection. Moreover, it is not before the tribulation, but after the tribulation. Now that clears the entire issue up in just about two paragraphs, yet millions of ignorant Christians have bought into the error espoused by Dr. LaHaye including most modern evangelicals. This is what is so astonishing is how so many can be so blind. However, Dr. LaHaye is partially correct. He believes in a pre-tribulation rapture which Christ taught, except that Christ taught two shall be in the field and one would be taken and one would remain. Jesus did not preach that the resurrection was prior to the tribulation for obvious reasons including the resurrection is the final event when the saints come with Christ and judge the world. When you see the error it makes you fall back in your chair and declare, how did I miss what was there. It's as if God just turned the lights on so we could all see. Likewise, Christ taught that the faithful and wise stewards and virgins would enter into the kingdom of God, but the unfaithful and unwise must endure the tribulation. This is why Christ taught us to pray to be accounted worthy to escape the tribulation. Hence, escaping the tribulation is the major issue for the Christian. The "experts" of our times have all missed the major issue of the coming of Christ, which was that the follower of Christ must be ready when Christ appears as a thief in the night before the tribulation or he will remain and go through the tribulation. This is what Christ taught in all his many parables regarding his sudden coming. The foolish and unfaithful followers of Christ must weather the tribulation to be saved. In a nutshell this was the truth that Jesus spent the majority of his parables illustrating over and over. |
