mind-Intriguing,
By "sramahi" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
As a person in the scientific field, I don't accept or 'believe' anything if it did not make sense or if it was not supported by scientific facts. There are a lot of contemporary scientific facts and theories: - The Big Bang theory in the creation of the universe. - The expansion of the universe. - Water is the basis of life - Living creatures, including humans, are made mostly of water. - The embryonic protective layers - The medicinal properties of honey - ... ... etc All these facts are mentioned in the Quran as the author explains. After reading the book, I paused for a while and then said:Hmmmm! Re-examining one's self and one's faith almost immediatly follows. Of course, everyone can come to whatever conculsion they wish. My personal conclusion is: I am one step closer to finding the Truth.

A wonderful book,

This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
An awesome book that explains the scientific aspects of Quran and Bible and their historic accuracies. This would perhaps explain why the muslim world dominated the field of science in the early history of Islam. This book takes the cast concrete scientific observation and data [and not scientific theories per se] as the touchstone for measuring scientific accuracies and compares and contrasts the Holy scriptures of Bible and Quran. It is a very good book that provides relevence to the scriptures in the current scientific age. Christians introducing themselves to Islam should perhaps have a copy of this book as a companion to Islamic study. I'm not sure I would recommend the same for Biblical studies and an introduction to christianity.

Interesting,

This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
Maurice Bucaille's book was a very interesting one, bringing up some fascinating points. Although he is not the most gripping writer, he manages to convey his arguments effectively. Strangely enough, some other readers read the exact same book and concluded that it was a book of "wild allegations" that were readily refuted by their "scientist" friends. Interestingly enough, muslims readily find renowned non-muslim scientists that will back up qur'anic accuracy (Keith Moore, for example, world renowned embryologist, has a text book in its fifth edition that has been translated into at least half a dozen languages). Whether the Qur'an is the truth or not is up to you to decide. Desire the truth, and God will lead you to the truth; desire a lie, and God will lead you to that lie. If one has already made up his or her mind that islam is a lie, than thats what that person will find; no one can change his or her mind. If one decides that they want the truth, no matter what, then who knows?

Logical proof of reality of each book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
I have not read another book that logically and scietifically proves the reality of either of these religious books. Those who do not believe in religion, assuming that it is man-made, should really read this book. It truely will make them change their mind. I like the way Bucaille only discusses the scietific facts in his discussion that have been proven so far and proves his points only through logic. His own testimony about his miscnceptions about Islam, and his efforts to understand Islam are very encouraging. The point this book makes is: God is not illogical. His actions are very well planned and are not without logic. There is a religion that gives a logical understanding of questions that inquiring minds ask. Against popular notion, this book proves that science does agree with religion.

Rediscover the TRUTH, rediscover GOD,

This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
A fabulous book. I read the Bible and wonder whether it's a holy scripture or traditions or a combination of the two. I read this book and it answered my questions in plain and simple language (no philosophy or theology). I as an engineer can relate to the deeper meaning of this book. If you have a good understanding of Science this book is for you. After reading this book, I read "Jesus Prophet of ISLAM". This book does a wonderful job of tracing the history of Jesus and his message. I now have no doubt, scientifically or historically, of Gods message to man and his promise in the Quran. It's such a shame that our priests, leaders and the media mention none of this. In fact they do a wonderful job of completely hiding it. Islam is definitely a religion revealed by God and explains the religions that preceeded it. We are doing ourselves a huge disservice by ignoring it. Hats off to Maurice Bucaille for taking the time to do the research and presenting it so honestly. He has made my search for God much easier.

LOADS OF RESEARCH IN TERMS OF SCIENCE AND RELIGION!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible, the Qu'ran and Science: The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge (Paperback)
WHat is honestly not fair, is people lowering their feedbacks more then neccesarly, on a book, simply because it is aginast their opinions, or they don't like that the book speaks praisingly about something they dislike. I own the original of this book, and i am honestly going to say: NO ONE CAN DENY this scientist, surgeon, and mathmtecian etc... did do RESERACH. You can't deny it, even if you wnat to give him negative stars. It's a clear cut easy read book, with many scientific facts compared to what the bible, the quran as well as some of the torah, has to say. there's an introduction to each religion's belif, not opinionated. THIS man is a non-muslim! why would he lie about something and then take the time to write a book, had his observations been false? Being non-muslim, i half expected this book to be written in an answering-to tone of all the bible's "misconceptions".Unlike most books who merely state opinions and well... have no root of research, this man took time. Science is a big thing. you can't state your opinion without a theory, research, an experiment, and a conclusion. THat is exaclty what this author did.

This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
In this book, the truth is told, plain and simple. We live in a society that is not straight forward with religious truth, especially as it relates to science---and Islam. I was surprised at his objectivity, and I recommend this book to every single person. If you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or atheist, YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

The Truth revealed ! It abolishes all myths about Islam !,

This review is from: The Bible, the Qur'an and Science: (La Bible, le Coran et la Science) The Holy Scriptures Examined in the Light of Modern Knowledge, translated from the French (Paperback)
Dear fellow Readers, Specially my christian & Jewish cousins. Its about time that yopu refer to this book with a clean mind and without prejudice and you will clearly see the ONE True God and his manifestations in the everyday Laws of nature, that are science and the confirmation of all those in the Holy Quran ! The non-muslim readers may at first sight find it a bit agressive towards their religion but they should realize that they themselves are the victims of Politically oriented interests that led to the change of the original heavenly scriptures alltogether during the course of centuries. The simplest fact being that Bible has so many "Versions" while Quran is still the same as it was 1400 years ago ! just because of one simple reason .... God has promised in the Quran that he will save this "LAST TESTAMENT" in the original form for the generations to come unlike the previous scriptures ! Due to this Purity of the Quran, We even today find so many unexplainable truths about modern scientific aspects that are hidden in the Quran. I recommend this book to every person who knows and understands logic and can judge without any prejudice.

This book is valuable in that it shows the difference between "Divinely Inspired" and "Divine Revelation." A distinction making clear why Al-Islam is important and should not be dismissed out of hand by the other two Abrahamic Religions.
