This is a valuabale study tool. It includes outlines of every book, a synopsis of every chapter along with notes to references that need clarification. There are also lots of illustrations, maps and other helps for anyone on any level who is reading God's word. It is easy to understand, but goes deep enough for the serious student.

I have owned this book since 1991 when I first became a Christian and have returned to it over and over again when I need more information or an explanation for Scripture. The book is well laid out, with commentary and application. It is written in a down to earth way, making it easy for anyone to understand. This is one book I would NOT be without! I love it!

An excellent Bible companion! Each page is packed with information. It's "just the facts" presented in a simple, elegant, and extremely accessible format. The writer's warmth comes through. His style is direct yet friendly. It's like having your favorite teacher give you private Bible lessons. You get key persons, events, and outlines for each book. Then there are chapter summaries with key verses, personal applications, and Dr. Richards' insights. The explanations are most helpful and add depth and enjoyment to my Bible study.

This book is an excellent Bible study companion. Actually, this is a replacement copy to my first one which was damaged in storage. If you purchase this book, there is no need to purchase the Bible Reader's Companion (Home Bible Study Library)by Richards (produced by Cook Ministries/purple and white book cover)for they both are identical just sold in different covers.

Some times reading the Bible can be a bit daunting. This well thought out book, lays the books of the Bible out, chapter by chapter in a clear fashion. It is helpful for the beginning or slightly advanced Bible reader--BJ

I have been searching for a book to help me want to read the bible more and this is it. The book is just what I was looking for to help me break down readings in the bible. I especially Love the "personal application" that is attached to every chapter to help me more clearly understand the chapters to be able to meditate on them and implement them into my daily life.

I just love this book, is easy to understand specially in my case that english is my second language.

This is a great book for personal study. I also use it when I need to find information about a book or passage for a paper. (I'm working on my Masters of Divinity.) It helps me get the background information that I need quickly and easily.
