1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading and Peddling of speculative Bias
This work by Bucaille has already been refuted and debunked fully by Dr.William Campbell's response "The Quran and the Bible in the Light of History and Science"! -also available from Amazon. What proper 'Science' can we possibly learn from the Quran, which states that Alexander the Great looked for the setting Sun and found the Sun setting in a 'pool of...

This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
I was completely shocked when I read this book and it has completely changed my perception of both holy scriptures- moreso the Bible because I had been reading the Quran beforehand and only selected parts of the Bible. I think the methodology used by Dr Buccaille is scientific and logical, and many of his findings regarding the Bible are confirmed by Christian sources but unknown to the vast majority of Christians- but without doubt should be known. When I now speak to Christians who are unaware of the facts in this book I find it difficult to have an intellectual open-minded discussion with them regarding the Bible because I know that they haven't done any unbiased study on the book.

I am a physicist and perhaps that's why it appealed to me. I would very strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants facts and logic, not waffle and emotion regarding these the holy scriptures. If you are considering either religion, this book you absolutely must be read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent scientific review of Koran and Bible, December 30, 1998

This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
For the correct operation of a scientific equipment, we scientists have to calibrate them against reference devices as required. One of the rules of the calibration is that the reference devices have to be at least four times more accurate than measurement equipment to be calibrated. When I see unqualified people orchestrating the attacts to excellent authors using any medium they can get hands to, I can't help but remember the accuracy rule above. By the way, Dr.Morris Bucaille, being a surgeon, is qualified to title of Dr. regardless you care to mention or not. I believe the previous review is nothing but a flame and in violation of Amazon's Review Guidelines". Therefore should be taken out of the database.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rediscover the TRUTH, Rediscover GOD, December 30, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
A fabulous book. I read the Bible and wonder whether it's a holy scripture or traditions or a combination of the two. I read this book and it answered my questions in plain and simple language (no philosophy or theology). I as an engineer can relate to the deeper meaning of this book. If you have a good understanding of Science this book is for you.

After reading this book, I read "Jesus Prophet of ISLAM". This book does a wonderful job of tracing the history of Jesus and his message. I now have no doubt, scientifically or historically, of Gods message to man and his promise in the Quran.

It's such a shame that our priests, leaders and the media mention none of this. In fact they do a wonderful job of completely hiding it. Islam is definitely a religion revealed by God and explains the religions that preceeded it. We are doing ourselves a huge disservice by ignoring it.

Hats off to Maurice Bucaille for taking the time to do the research and presenting it so honestly. He has made my search for God much easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fair, Objective study, August 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
I wish more scholars were as unbiased as Bucaille. I have read Campbell's "rebuttal" and it is nothing more than a very weak attempt to debunk the truth that emerges from Bucaille's study. It is a well-established fact that the Bible is both historically and scientifically inaccurate. Read Russell's (one of the 20th century's greatest philosophers) Religion and Science. Thank God for the Qu'ran or I would be a sad atheist.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting analysis of the Quran's scientific accuracy, January 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
I first read Dr. Maurice Bucaille's book two years ago, and since then, have recommended to many people that they read it. In fact, I consider it to be one of the most interesting and thoughtful books on comparative religion that I (in fairly extensive reading) have ever read. Dr. Bucaille shows through careful analysis exactly how the Qur'an is far superior to the Bible in its scientific accuracy, and how in fact, science can be used to prove Islam's truthfulness. While I'm sure that an ardent supporter of Christianity would not enjoy reading this book--particularly as it casts great doubt on Christianity as it is practiced today--I highly recommend it to anybody interested in learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ansewred so many questions concerning two great Books, October 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
I had so many questions regarding The Bible and The Quran. Bucailles's book clarified most of them in a manner I can relate to, objectively & scientifically. No hollow theological arguments that couldn't be proved and no subjectivity. This is definitly a scholarly work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book but..., March 11, 2001
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
I found this book quite inspirering. A real revelation as far as I'm concerned. The only downside of this book would be the first chapter about christianity. I found Mr. Bucaille way to agressive in his analisys of the Bible. That was completely unecessary and might draw very hard core christian away from this book. I was christian when I first read this book and felt attack and treaten. If you offer this book to a christian friend, do like I do: tell them to skip the first chapter. This chapter is the reason why I dont give this book a 5 star.

This book is not recomended for very closed minded Christian that thinks they hold the whole truth and are not ready to open up for new anwser elsewhere. My guess is that all reviewers that rated this book one star are some of them. This book is GREAT for poeple with scientific minds looking for anwsers they cannot find in the bible: science and proof that there's a god.

5.0 out of 5 stars An answer to those how don't know what they're talking, October 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
If those who talk the way they talk about The Holly Qur'an, know the secrets and revelations of the Book, they would start to wonder and think. If they know that one of the most appreciated doctors of medicine actually used the verses from Qur'an to describe the embryo development in mothers womb to write his book, maybe they would start to think different. If they would know that Qur'an says that we have different fingerprints 1400 years ago (that was discovered nearly 20-30 years ago), maybe they would sit on the mountain and wonder why the Sun is going from the east to the west and who is the Sustainor of that same Sun. Qur'an says that those are the proofs for the wise ones and I guess those who wrote those awful words about Qur'an are not one of them. Or if you think you are then take a challenge offered in Qur'an itself in surah Al-Baqara verses 23 and 24 (2:23-24). Try and you will se that you cannot (or anyone else) create the "mathematical" and miracle of every other kind what actually Qur'an is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, August 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bible the Qur'an and Science [Paperback] by Bucaille, Maurice (Paperback)
Dr Bucaille's work is excellent..he has won many prizes in France for previos work...from the comments above it is easy to see that people who approach Islam with an open mind will love this book but people who are arrogant and prejudice will only try and find faults like Dr william Campbell, read the book with an open mind, and don't listen to anti-islamists they will try to do anything to distort Islam.
