4.0 out of 5 stars Good for references, February 15, 2008

This review is from: The Bible & the Tarot (Paperback)
This book was published closer to the beginning of the Age of Aquarius, but still has some very nice information. Although the Arcanum 21 is assigned to the World and 22 to the Fool (which -esoterically speaking- is reversed, but a common confusion), there is plenty of usable material. Specifically: references to Bible verses for Tarot cards and Hebrew letters; and great introductory material to the esoteric worlds of the past.

The Author quotes old testament verses for each of the Major Arcanum as well as quotes of Jesus related to each Arcanum! She also references material that would be considered 'standard' masonic esotericism, so she is familiar with mystery schools. She references Greek, Egyptian and Hebrew, Christian, the Zohar, Kabbalists, and has a section called "Hebrew Alphabet: a series of cosmic glyphs", etc. She gives the symbolic meaning of the Hebrew letters, including the Zodiacal letter correspondences, and she also references Daath -the invisible sephira- as well as the four great worlds and many kabbalistic concepts. If nothing else, the author has studied esotericism.

As with all esoteric studies, this book should be contemplated and not taken as fact, nor as inherently wrong. Overall, this book offers some good references to the bible (both OT and NT) related to Kabbalah and Tarot. If you are interested in these things and its not expensive, its probably worth picking up just to reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant correlation to Hebrew letters/numbers of Psalm 119, July 8, 2006

This review is from: The Bible and the tarot,
As the book refers, many will try the path but few will complete it's journey. This book has a great correlation between the hebrew letters of Psalm 119 and the tarot. It relates the tarot to the path of the initiate. Sad to say for the other comment provided on this book, it was a narrow path he/she could not follow. This is not a quick fix for your life, it is a way of life you decide to follow. The information in this book is plain and easy to read, for those not interested in learning more about the path, they may get easily bored, as it is not a tarot reading book. There is the path of the light/spirit and the path of the material, this is only the begining of your journey, if you cannot deal with the solitude you may sometimes face, then it may not be your time, leave it for some future time, or leave and come back from time to time until you are ready for it. -- Peace

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent synthesis of Tarot, Qabalah and Chrsitian Hermeticism, March 29, 2011

This review is from: The Bible and the tarot,
This is a fantastic book. Heline Corrine really knows her stuff in regards to esoterica and this shows through in this enlightening book. Heline has a firm grasp of the Qabalah and is especially illumintaing around the qualities of the Hebrew letters and their occult properties. She really approached the whole thing from the point of view the western mystery traditions, in particular Christian Hermeticism. So if you are a fan of Christian Hermeticism and like the writings of Paul Foster Case etc.. you will get a lot out of this book. Highly recommended.
