"Only those who believe in Christ as God, in His Virgin Birth and
in His Resurrection in the body-the irreducible minimum of the
Christian faith-will go to heaven. Those who deny any or all of
these tenets will be lost-they will go to hell" ... "We have got
to smoke them out," cried the reverend, and when he made this
last statement I suppose he forgot for the moment that he was
not living in the days when thousands suffered death by fire and
fagot for denying the very things that he now demands that we all
accept. If the ecclesiastical arm were as strong now as it was
then, how sweet would the "smoke" of my flesh be to the nostrils
of the Reverend Mr. Pettingill.

Joseph Lewis makes his case "against" both the Bible and Christianity (and against Judaism to some extent). He does not only give his personal opinion but also cites verses and passages from the Bible. He also cites the comments and opinions of Christian preachers and ministers to prove his point.

One may or may not agree with Lewis' arguements/conclusions, but anyone who reads this books will see that he supports what he says with evidence and/or with previous works made by famous scholars.i.e. Thomas Paine.

Highly recommended if you're a student of religion, the Bible, and/or Christianity and Judaism.

My book arrived in excellent shape. It was suppose to be here by Aug. 17th and it arrived at post office Aug 2nd but, alas, our post office put it on a shelf and neglected to tell me. By the 20th I was in contact with Harvest Books who promptly looked into the matter. They found the tracking info and with that I was able to have the post office find my book.
