This book is crucial reading for any pastor or layman who wants to understand and study eschatology. Far too many times modern readers have had a tendency to superimpose their own culture and understanding on prophetic passages of the Bible. Terry, by virtue of examining every passage in the Bible gives the proper tools for studying eschatology. No one has to agree with his conclusions or interpretations, however, his examination will give you the proper foundation to decide for yourself. Prophecy in the Bible cannot be correctly understood without a solid background in the topic which includes what the symbols meant in their original context. We would see less jet planes, atomic bombs, and other such nonsense in the book of Revelation if we fully understood how the symbols in it were used through out the Bible itself. This book is important and should be read even if it does require a bit of acquaintance with an outdated or scholarly vocabulary. We should not expect studies to be so simplified. Knowledge worth acquiring should be worth the extra effort needed to do so. I guarantee you, the effort needed to glean much valuable insight into the study of eschatology from this book will be worth the trouble.

I don't know if other writers from Terry's era wrote the same, but for someone in the present this book is terribly hard to read because of the writing style. Aside from this, of what I did manage to understand, I did not find the information in this book to be particularly enlightening. I was dissapointed over all the hoopla over it. I gladly sold my copy.
