Editorial Reviews

Review

"...Biblical Classification of Life demonstrates biblical integration at its best. Chard uses keen analytical skills..." -- JuLee Davis, M.Ed.

"...Unwavering in its biblical integrity, his categorization of living creation according to the categories God Himself regards, is long overdue." -- Christian Overman, author Assumptions That Affect Our Lives

About the Author

Mr. Chard Berndt (bear-nt) teaches high school sciences and writing. He studied at Gonzaga University and graduated from the University of Colorado's rigorous school of engineering. Mr. Berndt has also ministered as a youth pastor and written for Christian journals and outdoor recreation magazines.
Passion: Inspired by the need for complete biblical integration in his science department, Mr. Berndt has developed curriculum to introduce middle-school sciences in a scope and sequence that reflects the biblical Days of Creation. This work stirred up a passion for the biological sciences, and a complete integration of biological taxonomy with biblical criteria, as found in Genesis 1-2, Levitical law, and other scriptural passages. This study led to Biblical Classification of Life. He considers as his primary inspiration the theistic, thinking scientists of the Reformation, who "sought truth for truth's sake"--men who did not leave God or His principles out of science, but rather allowed God to enlighten their science.
Personal: Mr. Berndt grew up in Hong Kong, but now considers himself an "Idaho guy" all the way. He has enjoyed over eleven years of marriage to his wife Carrie, and they delight in their adopted boys Eli (5) and Isaiah (3). He enjoys competitive mountain biking and recreational running and climbing, as well as camping with his family and backpacking with his wife.
