1.0 out of 5 stars The Biblical Guide to Alternative Medicine
This book addresses some of the questions I have about alternative medicine but it is definitely not probing deeply into the questions surrounding medical treatment as was mentioned in the praise from Dr. Bill Bright on the first page of the book. It touches the surface and quotes the Bible a little. There was not even a mention about the foods God recommends and advises...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource, July 10, 2005
This review is from: The Biblical Guide to Alternative Medicine (Paperback)
I was looking for Scriptural guidelines to help my family in choosing and using alternative medicines. I was especially concerned of the spiritual implications from using various alternative treatments, such as magnetic healing, reiki, accupuncture and applied kinesiology. (Spiritual implications came to be a concern after a number of disturbing personal experiences and reading several books - including "The Bondage Breaker" also by Anderson.) The Biblical Guide gave me the answers I was looking for and much more! It is well written, well-researched well-documented. It presents a 5 sided grid thru which an individual can investigate any medical treatment or therapy. I especially appreciate the fact that science is only one of the 5 and not the focal point. As Anderson and Jacobson point out - Science is not always right, Science is growing in it's understanding, and Science cannot become our 'god'. I also appreciate that while the author gave their concerns, they ultimately leave the decision to the reader saying that while a treatment is appropriate for one person, it might not be for the next person. Another thing I found suprising and refreshing was their inclusion of allopathic medicine. While they tend to say allopathy is one of the better options available, they gave several criticisms and warnings for using allopathy. Greatly appreciated from my perspective!
I also bought Alternative Medicine by Walt Larimore M.D., Donal O'Mathuna at the same time as The Biblical Guide. I will be returning Alternative Medicine after a quick overview told me it was rather biased towards Allopathy and science and did not contain the answers I was looking for!
The Biblical Guide was excellent! I highly recommend it and have already shared it with several friends and my Chiropractor who is also Christian!

Very good over view of the confusion we have with alternative healings. Gives you tools how to discern what is real and what is questionable or even dangerous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very, very helpful., February 16, 2011
This review is from: The Biblical Guide to Alternative Medicine (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Jacobson have done their research. It is easy to read and understand, and very thorough. I have referred to it several times over the past 7 years. Since this information is so vital, I'm surprised they haven't come out with more books. But I'm very glad to have this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent source to evaluate medical treatment, August 3, 2010

So much of alternative medicine is involved in New Age thinking which I do not believe in. Dr. Anderson gives a 5-point grid to evaluate medical treatment for those who desire the Bible to be their guide in all they do.
