About the Author

Steve Hallagher's book, "A Biblical Guide to Counseling the Sexual Addict" is appropriate and timely for the American culture today! Sexual addiction has created more social problems and destroyed more families than probably alcohol addiction. Social problems arising from sexual addiction are a daily staple on the eveining news now. However, what is even more important about this book is that Mr. Gallagher's approach is firmly from the Bible in its directives and principles. As he points out and illustrates, the Bible is our tool for healing. Christians are to live a holy and godly life. Whatever obstacle they face in doeing so can be overcome with God's help - yet He helps us best when we seek His ways and His methods to ovecome those obstacles. What is more, the obstacles will stay removed from the individual if that person walks close to the Lord. Mr. G.'s approach is very closley aligned with the practice of Biblical Counseling (for which there are post-graduate degrees available in many seminaries). This book is a must reading for anyone who desires to help people through their addictions in general, and specifically, for helping those with sexual addiciton.

This is a tough read but I believe that if you have friends that have been involved with any sexual addictions this give you a guide to help them to get way from it. This reminds me of a new movie as of 2008 call Fireproof, this is a must see because it pin points the truth of porn and what it does to a marriage.
